Nowhere near enough of an egalitarian society for the good ol' USA to be deemed a democracy.

I attribute America's vast and growing income inequality along with our trademarked money in politics issues at hand to justify why I agree with the proposition above.

Politicians seem to be governed far more by monetary capital than political capital.

Politicians seem to be governed far more by monetary capital than political capital.

That is impossible and fallacious statement. Politicians are not subjected to monetary capital because obtaining monetary capital implies gaining wealth through economic means such as offering goods or services on the market whereas politicians only obtain political capital by force with the threat of violence. Politicians have no right to claim monetary capital since they have not earned one penny of that money.

Obama 2008 and Goldman Sachs

Google it.

By monetary capital I mean the money in which is enjected into our elections by which politicians fallow counter to what their base or perhaps constituency want.

In the Obama and Goldman Sachs example it would be increased reform/regulations of the financial sector.

I'm sorry my choice of words upset you so much :(

Unlike the those pointing out that the U.S. is a republic....DERP, DERP, a republic is a form of democracy like direct democracy is a form of democracy.

The initial form of the United States was in the eyes of a Democracy, but it is really dictatorship yet the majority rules, so the illusion of enlightenment.

No, we like our Dynasties here in America. Clinton Clinton Clinton Bush Bush Bush and Obama fucked it all up.

Well, we're not a pure democracy. We're a representative democracy.

Though at times it may seem as though we have little control over anything and that's true. But we have just about as much control as anyone CAN have in a government without an overwhelming amount of chaos. We have it pretty good.

It rubs me the wrong way when people say that we don't live in a democracy. Especially since it's usually those on the left who consequently want bigger government which would make this country even less of a democracy..

It is a constitutional republic, which is a form of liberal democracy.
