The Ying Yang, or yin yan, or whatever you want to call it
The affirmative position holds that God is good and greater than evil. The negative position holds that goodness and evil are equal and counterbalanced and those who believe in it are full of it and it stinks.
Why do you come to my debates? You never want to discuss the topic, you seem incapable of showing any kind of manners a good mother would teach to their child, you seem incapable of showing any respect.....I"m the boss here, idiot. If I don't like the way you act, you get the boot in the tail and I hope the door doesn't hit ya where the good Lord split ya, because it's annoying to listen to you whine.
You little punk. What are you gonna do when you wake up in Hell if you won't seek God's mercy in Jesus Christ before it's too late? When's the last time your daddy whooped you?
I deserve to burn in Hell, I'm saved from it, I want everybody to be saved from Hell. I care. If you don't care, then don't care....but I will care for others as God cares for me.
I hesitate to post here since I don't want to give you the satisfaction of banning me.
But I am going to trust that if I give you and honest and non-hostile answer you will not do that.
Here goes. My opinion, only...
I am sorry, but I DO think the Universe is comprised of a perfect balance. Science shows us some of this, as the fact of a perfect balance of matter and anti-matter.
We also have night and day; positive and negative electrical forces; wet and dry; fire and ice; solids and nothingness; light and dark. hot and cold.
The Taosists' (not the Hindus!) concept of Yin and Yang embrace all of this.
Thus I think that there IS a perfect balance between the primary forces that we refer to as Good and Evil. Or as God and Satan. They are equal. Sorry, but God is no stronger than Satan in this aspect. It all HAS to balance, as it is in reality science and physics-based and not borne of religion. We just use religion and labels like God and Satan to make sense of it all.
The residue of forces from tis Good and Evil Forces are Angels and Demons. They too are in perfect balance. But by our own mindsets and attitudes and ability to tap into one or the other, we can choose which of these Energies we wish to become enmeshed with.
Sometimes, that is. Sometimes people become ensnared in one or the other, contrary to their own wishes. But this is going off-topic so I will not elaborate on it any further.
You stayed on topic well enough so I won't ban you. You made an excellent illustration of the "I'm full of it" argument.
I don't know why you think God is weaker than or dependent on the things He created, other than to believe the god you serve is a created thing. To say that in any aspect God is not stronger than Satan is not recognizing God as the creator and judge of Satan. The error of this kind of thinking is degradation of God, changing Him into less that Almighty God. There is no balance between good and evil, they are not equals dependent on each other. God will eventually confine all evil in Hell or He is no good at all, useless, impersonal, irrelevant. That is an error. You might be full of the ying yang, but your is pulling you down in death and it pollutes your entire being so all your ying yang stinks the same in the nostrils of God who is good. God is good, your ying is pollute by your yang so your ying is gone bad like sour milk.
but Saint, you have to admit that my idea of the Forces of Evil and Good--of God and Satan--being equal and opposite DOES explain the problem of Suffering in theis world. A problem that mainstream Christians have had a very hard time explaining and justifying to agnostics and atheists. Right? Or no?
and I still don't feel like believing in this concept is pulling me down to Death. If I am wrong than God will show me I am wrong. In His good time. Since when I pray to Him the only thing I usually ever ask for is Knowledge of His will for me, and for the courage and strength to carry that out. Godbless.
Your idea legitimizes pain and suffering, and God is against it. The only way pain and suffering can be legitimized is to be left in Hell forever. It is only by God's mercy that we are not consumed in Hell now.
I have no problem explaining the reality of pain and suffering in this present age. Atheists and agnostics have a hard time understanding because they start from the position of saying they cannot understand God. You are like an atheist in that by implying evil is congruent with good, you are denying God's goodness. What good is God if He does not separate evil from Himself and put it where it cannot spread? The consuming fire of Hell is JUSTICE against evil, and it justifies the existence of sinners.
In denying the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ, you are denying yourself from life, you are sealing your own tomb and you have nobody who conquered death and is able to get you out of it. Your body is your corpse and you are out of control with demons pushing your buttons trying to get you destroyed in Hell.
If you will not believe Jesus Christ conquered death, you are stuck in death and it has conquered you. Only God's mercy is holding you back from being stuck in Hell now.
You say you can explain why God allows pain and suffering to the innocent. Yet you failed to do so.
Please do, I would like to hear it.
In my opinion this issue has never been Satisfactorily answered by anybody who thinks God is Omnipotent AND Loving. As you do.

You keep running back to my idea on Christ. This is off topic. You run to it like a shelter when you cannot beat one of my arguments!
The Bible has the answer. Your problem is that you reject the Bible and make your own version, a fake version, of God's word.
God has a plan, evil will be confined in Hell. He allows it for a time because He wants more people in Heaven. If he were to stop evil now, you would be burning in Hell now and God does not want that. Evil will be purged from creation and all sinners confined in the fire of Hell forever. God has a plan, that is the simple explanation of why He allows evil to spread now.
Because He Himself paid the penalty of sin in death, in His resurrection He has the right to keep His creatures in eternal death punished by the fire of Hell for going against their creator, and the smoke of their torments will rise forever and the story of redemption through the blood of the resurrected Savior will be told forever by the redeemed and there will never again be a rebellion, never again will the living turn to be evil and dying.
If you cannot understand this or believe it, it's only because your mind is blinded by the god of this world who plays on the evil of your heart like a demon hunter plays on a guitar making weird music......and you sure are being a weirdo believing God has chosen you for a mission through the flaming gates of Hell opening in your suicide chamber curtains of your imagination.
The reality of the deity of Jesus Christ and His bodily resurrection is entirely on topic here. He is God, and in your version of reality where God is no more powerful than evil, you must deny that Jesus is God and He conquered death.....as long as you hold to your position, you must hold to your own sin paying your own price in death, and it cannot possibly get you out of death and it cannot justify your life or you would not have to die. You are trying to storm the gates of Heaven thinking the flaming curtain vision is from God showing you the way when it was from a devil luring you into the gates of Hell.

Yes God is omnipotent and loving, and much more than that. He is love and He hates evil. God is no good if He does not hate evil. God is no good if He cannot stop evil. God is no good if He will not stop evil. If you believe God will allow evil to continue forever, you do not know God and you are evil.
Yes, I run to Christ Jesus the Living God who conquered death like a shelter. His blood covers my sin, and I am sheltered by Him in His resurrection. He keeps me safe and has a home prepared for me in Heaven. He is God, God is my Savior, His Holy Spirt who is Jesus Christ living in me is from God and proves I am born of His Spirit and washed in His blood. You are born in sin, dying in sin, and deceived by devils into thinking you are moving toward your "divine potential" quoted from the front page headline of your own website which you advertise often. The do teach that you can be God. When they say you have diving potential, they are saying you can be God....they say you have that potential. You do not have divinity in you, you can't be divine, you do not have divine potential, you are a sinner and you have potential of being confined in the fire of Hell forever with no Savior who can get you out of dying because you reject the One who conquered death.
Yin and Yang to me, which I think is from....Taoism? Anyway, to me it makes more sense than most things in Religion. Because it can be applied scientifically. In fact it might be more science than religion. All things in Nature ore cyclic. Physics shows us all actions have equal and opposite RE-actions.
I actually like what the Demon said about god and Satan being like positive and negative electrical charges. This is again putting science into mythology. which it needs more of.
I still can't buy into a god and a devil, however. maybe some sort of positive and negative energy fields get into peoples brains and make them good or evil? Hmm. who knows. I doubt it's that simple. I think there really IS no such thing as Good and Evil, at least as outside entities. Only the deeds we homo sapiens do are referred to as good or evil. it's all subjective, though.

This is clearly scientifically certifiable. That's why they put your name and picture on your driver's license, and your mother's name on your birth certificate. You have a beginning and an end in this world. These are scientific facts. If you believe you get recycled in they tao of ying yang parallel universes with no objective cause, that is a belief and it is not scientific.

What's happening is that you are trying to justify your own life, justify yourself, thinking you can remain hidden from God by blocking him out, it's a mental block you have chosen after seeing so much evil (of course that is subjective, but pretty obvious and safe to call it evil) among religions and religious people. You are trying to build yourself up to be strong for death, while working hard to keep that mental block wall from falling. Either God's goodness will make the wall vanish and you will hope in His mercy, of His anger will cause it to melt in the fire of Hell. You don't get out of reality as the ying yang tries to deny reality by saying evil and good are not objectively different but are coexistent parts of reality.
What they (we!) mean by Divine Potential that is to become filled with the Holy Spirit, just as God intended for us, and for which Jesus died. You need to know this. Unlike the LDS, nobody at Unity thinks they can learn to become a God, or even God-like. Far from it. All we strive for is to Know God's Will for us and to Improve our Conscious Contact with Our Creator, so we can realize our Potential, which with His Help, can be a PART of the Divine Plan.
What they mean by discover your divine potential is that they believe you have divine potential. Your potential can't get you out of death, it is not divine. Unity is a lie. Telling you that you can discover your divine potential is saying you can be like God an you cannot be like God because you have sinned against God, you are a sinner, and your sin separates you from God. Unity is lies and it will take you into the fire of Hell......then, if you take it that far, you will know exactly what I told you, that flaming curtain vision was nothing more than a deception showing you the gates of Hell making you think you had power to go forward not realizing you are pushing forward to the fire of Hell. You're being led like a moth to the flame.
Unity tries to change the way they word things, but they do indeed teach you that you are equal to God as they teach you have divine potential. They're just selling you a bunch of swamp land by flattering you to think you are more than what you really are, a sinner who deserves to die and burn in Hell.
God's will for you is to believe on the resurrection of Jesus Christ, to believe He is God. That is the starting point of knowing God's will. Your guidance in denying the basics of the Christian faith is not from God, but it is from lying spirits pretending to be from God.
Your idea of ying yang evil and good is wrong, God is going to separate all evil from Creation and keep it confined in the Lake of Fire forever where sinners will remain as they are, dead in their sins like you, no way out of being evil since they rejected the Savior who plunged Himself into their sufferings to pull them up out of death in His resurrection. Jesus is God and He is risen from the dead and Unity Church is evil trying to make you be divine. You can't deny Jesus of His throne ruling over all of His creation. Unity Church is trying to replace God with it's cult members. You are not a Christian. Unity Church is evil.

Unity Church is not Christion, the "Christ" of Unity Church is not Jesus Christ.
You can't be a Christian when you deny the deity and/or bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ. You are not a Christian, you are a cult member. Unity Church is a cult which mixes Hinduism and occult and calls it Christian, claiming to be good when it's evil against God, against Jesus Christ.
