The black man wants to be like the white man, true or false ?

Philosopher Frantz Fanon said “ For the black man , there is only one destiny and it is white”

He made this claim because he said “ that is the aspiration of many colonized people and has been formed by the dominant colonial culture “

I know a few blacks one of whom is a medial doctor who is studying to be a surgeon.

He explained to me that whilst attending a medical seminar he noticed one of the attendees wearing a Royal College of Surgeons tie.

He explained to me that he approached this surgeon, introduced himself and declared his ambition to qualify as a surgeon specializing in treating cleft palates in children.

He has since told me that he is now close to achieving his goal of becoming a surgeon but is regretful that, while he will soon be able to wear the tie and blazer of the R.C.S., he can never be white.

Maybe someday I thought.

I read a little of the philosopher you were referring to, I'm particularly interested in his book: Black Skin, White Masks.

While I can't speak to how it was when he was alive during the age where racism was still accepted and blacks where made to have certain places designated to them, I think now, at this moment in time it's not that they want to be like the white man, they just want the privileges afforded to white men.

He is worth reading and at least you were interested enough to do a check which is great ; what are white privileges Mint ?

I really shudder at the term White Privilege now because it is used to reduce all of the hard work any white person has done by saying they got where they were simply for color. But it is undeniable that through the years leading up to where we are now, there were certain privileges given to white men that afforded them higher positions of power and money because of their skin color. During the time that gentleman lived we were still growing (or at least America was) as a country, black men and women were looked down upon and denied the same opportunities that their white counterparts where offered, both in education and job opportunities.

As we are now, I do not believe it is as bad as it was, there must be a fight to better ones self and at this point in time there is opportunity to do it even in the poorest communities of America. The fight now isn't necessarily with the color of one's skin but the stigma one places on one's own race. If that makes sense.

No one can deny that the Caucasian race is the most beautiful. It’s such a shame the race may simply fade away. This doesn’t mean blacks should be enslaved or anything. It simply means I don’t believe blacks and whites should mix. Some blacks would like me to preserve their race as well. Let’s just be real and honest to the statistics: Blacks are the fastest race, Asians are the most intelligent, and Whites are the best looking - with vast characteristics (different eye color, variations in hair, various skin tone, slim nose, etc.)

The black man wants to be like the white man?

What does that even mean? No, just as white man might have pride in being white, black man might have pride in being black. What is it all? Vanity.

Race is made up. If you buy into that load of malarkey, you've been duped by a bunch of psychopathic and sociopathic eugenicists who are trying to make different breeds of people cattle to support their caste system.

Race is made up. What determines race? People had to get together and arbitrarily decide what attributes constitute a "race". It is used as a tool of oppression, and by fighting about "race", you fall for the whole divide by race game.

Lets be one people, and discard this race nonsense. Let the racists worry about that stuff, and leave them to their ways.

I knew it might be a bit “ tough “ for you

You totally missed the point of the question yet again

No, I don't believe I did. If you would be diplomatic and put forth the effort to convince me otherwise with sincere intent and a recognition that you are not my superior, I am open to the idea that you aren't proof of Poe's Law or a sad example of the Dunning–Kruger effect.

Which black man? Which white man? Like him in what way?

When I was a kid I wanted to be like Bill Cosby. I wanted to be that good at telling stories.

I still want that.

It has nothing to do with black or white.

Hi Marcus , no offence but I believe you’ve missed the whole point of the question

Hello, my friend.

no offence but I believe you’ve missed the whole point of the question

I don't think so, but I could be wrong.

It seemed to me that you were looking for a conversation about race relations, about comparative advantages (real or perceived) of being Black or White, about social justice, and possibly about envy one race may or may not feel toward the other.

I was trying to obliquely point out that people are individuals, not categories, and that the racial category assigned to us reveals nothing.

By the way, I am much harder to offend than can be effected without punching me in the nose or kicking me in the balls, both of which are difficult to do online or from across an ocean. :)

As such, different individuals view other individuals variously, whether with envy, pity, admiration, disgust, etc. ad infinitum.

I pointed out a particular thing I feel about a particular individual for a particular reason in order to demonstrate that racial identity is a red herring.

Do you think I missed the point, or did I just make my point too obliquely?

Both the irish and african american yell discrimination.

The irish wants to be like the whiteman after serving as slaves of the whiteman in exchange for a little coins for bread and sugar-water.

I believe the African American is more whiter than the Irish because the irish were cheaper slaves and didn't cost much money to lose to kill them as they lose their pityful low lives.

The whiter than the Irish, African Americans were made to sleep with Irish low live females to help bring forth a more worth life irish generation.

I agree the black man wants to be the like the white man and so does the irish man.

But the Irish man aims to be like the African American first, before stage 2 which is trying to be like the white man.

Fair? As fair as White.

Incidentally Irish men sometimes fucked your baboon featured women after a fill of drink while your cowardly men thanked us

Now away with you baboon face

The irony is how often you make up your own facts when the real ones get in the way of your hatred for blacks.

JUST TO CLARIFY PEOPLE THERE IS NO BLACK OR WHITE PERSON IN THIS WORLD.WE ARE OF THE SAME KIND JUST DIFFERENT COMPLEXIONS AND LANGUAGES.YOU SEE I AM CALLED A BLACK PERSON BUT I AM NOT BLACK I WAS TAUGHT TO BE BLACK AND YOU WERE TAUGHT TO CALL ME BLACK ALONG WITH WHATEVER LABEL YOU CALL YOURSELF.SO THIS THING BLACK MEN WANTING TO BE LIKE WHITE MEN DOES NOE EXIST THAT IS THE THING IT JUST SHOWS YOU ARE RACIST WHEN WE KEEP ON LABELING EACH OTHER AS BLACK OR WHITE

Probably true. That's why they keep sleeping with all the white women they can. Ultimately they may be better at being a white man than the white men are.

You speak for all blacks now ? Privileges are earned and how do you know he doesn’t want to be white ?

I’m happy enough as I am so why would I want to be black ?

I'd like to have the privileges of everybody. To be omniprivileged!

Everybody has their own "privileges". Even concerning oneself with such rubbish comes from a place of envy. Malice. Covetousness.
