The old Left was somewhat like the modern Right. The new left is psychopathy.

And it's why you see an abnormal amount of LGBTQ's making the political "switch".

Accurate.

One of the biggest ironies is that many/(possibly) most people on the "right" today would be seen as the most extreme "liberals" during the middle of the 20th century--as society has gotten so much more "relaxed" about morals, traditions, etc., as opposed to the 'firm grip' that was once present. Essentially, the modern "left" is now demanding that we get so "relaxed" that there is no 'tension' left in the fist, whatsoever.

Edit: To add--a lot/most of what the "left" is asking for we already have in America. As well what i commented on originally, there is also free/affordable College, there are basic medical plans that are only $100 a month, rental/housing is affordable, the cost of living is not outrageous, everyone (legal citizen) has "a chance", etc. etc. etc.

Hello x:

Uhhh, no.

You're smarter than me. I'm not historical. I dunno classic liberalism from modern liberalism. And, frankly, I'm not especially interested in discussing it.. But, I DO know how stuff is ON the ground..

Call it whatever you like, but fifty years ago, I saw a WRONG in racism, and I STILL see that wrong today.. You can see it too, right? It manifests itself in gerrymandering and voter suppression..

We can discuss it on another thread, but my point is, the left wing is FAR from being satisfied.

50(ish) years ago there was certainly a serious problem of racism, the left at the time fought for, and overwhelmingly was successful. I am a millennial, and the society i grew up in looks absolutely nothing like what was presented in the movie "Remember the Titans"--which is a very good thing.

Now, is racism still alive--yes, of course. Yet, it is among thousands of different kinds of prejudice that people in America (or, just generally) face. It would be very difficult to demonstrate conclusively now that person "x" did not get "y" opportunity, specifically due to race rather than a number of other factors, some of which could also be unwarranted prejudice. Previously, it was very clear when black American's were being treated like X-men mutants. How would one go about proving such a claim, and also is there not abundant evidence of success through other avenues available?

Also, many other things the previous left wanted they have essentially gotten--though are pushing it ever further. We can discuss such issues if you like on other threads. I understand a lot of where you may be coming from as, I was formerly a left-leaning independent, and now see alternatives to many of these matters that were not apparent before.

If interested, bullet point some of the key issues, as you see it, and we could discuss elsewhere.

Classical liberals didn't sound like children in debates. Modern liberals sound like 4 year olds, using horrible logic and screaming in your face if you disagree.

That's an interesting view bronto. Tell me, how exactly do you rectify it with the twelve threads you've created to attack the left in the last hour?

Hello bront:

I'm the old left.. I'm NOT like the modern right, or even the old fashioned right.. I'm NOTHING like the right. If I was like them, I'd have to KILL myself..

The "old right" (The GOP), was somewhat like the modern left. You know, willing to compromise? Even Donald Trump supported "left wingers", but then, he got psychopathy of the brain, found he could act REALLY crazy and the right would accept that as "normal". That sat well with his ,,,, what we used to call "hardening of the arteries". His new "friends" seem to think that's a GREAT thing, the more Psycho, the better! He's happier now, the left was beginning to think he was NUTS! ;-)
