The man with the gun has power over those without the gun...

The scientists in the Movie Jurassic Park are playing God, therefore the man with the gun isn't the ONLY one playing god.

I win.

I disagree. If reproducing is playing God, then hell, I've played that game many times without consequence. It is the presence of life, I'd say, that is this 'God', where life started. Ending a strand of that life is playing God. The man with the gun has comparable potency.

Well if that is the criteria, than I would wager you have taken far more lives (showering probably kills millions of microorganisms per instance, not to mention taking antibiotics, or hell, walking) than you could ever hope to create. If you mean intentional taking of life, perhaps, but what of farmers/ranchers? I suspect guns have taken far less lives than agricultural practices.

As God created the universe, it is in His will for us to learn truths such as evolution or to create artificial elements (Elements being on the periodic table). Sinning is not something he stops, but pure of heart, no matter whether they are killed or die naturally, will find grace in Him.

Ahaha, a fighter. I'll get to know you quick. As I had stated, what God is in the context of this debate is to be defined, yet it is implied by the statement of the title that playing God is the result similar to that of a gun, death. I find this very true. Were there a God, he created us and did nothing more. It would be of God to revoke that creation to any degree.

You won't get to know me, let alone quickly, so we can leave that out the picture for starters.

You say that He created us then "did nothing more". That is false, He did a lot more. Since you are using the bible, I will also: He sent His Son. He has done a great number of things since the worlds creation. It is just as easy for me to say this as it is for you to say He hasn't which leads me to believe this debate will be dull and destinationless. If it is to continue (the debate) what will be the main focus?

Side: Disagree

What about the man with the Doomsday Device? He spent decades trying to warp Space/Time and make all fear him only for you to say that guns cheat your God more?

That isn't very nice, is it?

But then again, I don't think he cares about your opinion. He's going to kill us all eventually anyway. Unless Captain Awesome stops him.

Bitches.

Bullcrap.

A weapon that shoots a metallic slug and can be easily lived through is nothing like a device developed over decades of careful mad science in design to destroy the world in a few hours, if not minutes, once completed.

You really like hurting the feeling of super-villians, don't you?

Side: Disagree

Guns are evil. Christians should hate guns. Guns should be banned.
