The reason psychedelics are illegal
Is because they open us up to the experience of what reality is. You can acheieve what drugs, NATURAL drugs, give you, through meditation.
Making a plant that grows in the ground illegal, really people? i thought we were rational here... yet that is the most irrational thing i have ever EVER heard of....
Sure theyve been abused *cough* timothy leary *cough* but psyhcedelics have been being used for a long time, and if you cant handle yourself under the influence, then you need to learn self control.
We need psychedelics back in our culture. WE DESPERATELY NEED THEM. We are wired to receive the experiences of these tools, and we deny them. FFS people. This is what our reality has become, banning mother nature from ourselves. Good job humanity.
What's with all these "psychedelics and the law" type debates lately? I'm tired of this...
Psychedelics have done me far more good than harm over the course of my life; I do not typically advocate for their use by general individuals, but I do not support any efforts to limit the supply of psychedelics. They are good for you, quite often; for your mind, a part of the human make-up that many people fail to realize can need maintenance as well as the body.
Your entire argument about opening up new planes of reality were bullshit, psychedelics distort reality by changing the mechanics of your brain. However, I do agree that all drugs should be legal, and everyone should try a mind altering drug at some point. Drugs change your perspective on reality, and are thus a useful tool for creativity and making yourself more interesting. I've only got one life, and I'm going to try and have as many different experiences as possible. Evolution gave me a brain, and I'm going to do some pretty cool shit with it.
um no.... i can handle myself on drugs, most people can not, i was a drug addict before i was even born, if you notice what i said meditation produces the same results as natrual drugs, except way more intense.
We are supposed to have these experiences, our mind is wired to receive the messages they give, its not the experience that is important, it is the message received that is important.
edit also the whole point of this is that we have banned a substance that mother nature has produced, and they are cutting into our free will
If you think you're receiving messages which are anything more than the affects of the particular drug, than you are not one who should be taking drugs.
im not talking about "messages from god" im talking about the message received on how to enjoy life without drugs, living a simplistic life, realizing that all you need to survive is food&water;, shelter, and clothes, luxuries are nice, but they are not required, living off the grid is nice too, and i used to hate it, but ever since my experiences i have come to take pleasure in the simpler things, which i think everyone could benefit from...
Where did I specify where the message needed to be perceived to come from? I don't care if it came from god, your dog, your own random synapses, the flying spaghetti monster...
If after a drug trip you are not able to come back down to earth and look at things objectively and from a position based on reality, than whatever those messages are you are receiving, they are doing you harm.
well its hard to explain then, i have come back down to earth, i am very down to earth, i do look at things objectively, its not like im stuck in my fanatsy world, i can function just fine in society, its just theres times when it feels like people are not really people at all, not some of them at least... the "messages" received are more like implicated knowledge on how to be happy and remain happy in life, it doesnt get in the way of my reality, sure my beliefs may say otherwise but i can connect with people on a deep level, which has done me no harm at all, if anything, its helped keep me alive in my life.
no, i said i can connect with people, which has kept me alive, i can get along with any walk of life, maybe not over the internet, but in real life, i can befriend any type of person, whether it be a gang banger or a high class rich kid, i can get along with anyone
Ah, so you are both psychologically and emotionally unstable?
Psychedelics usually don't have bad effects, I know your the kind of guy who's opinion on drugs is purely based on media propaganda about the "ever so shocking (and totally no made up story) that some one on acid tried to fly and jumped off a building"
Even more of a reason to seek professional help and get off the drugs.
To say "get off drugs" would be to say your addicted, not every drug user is an addict just like every gamer is not a zit faced loser, not every Southerner is a racist and not every person who has a bite of a hamburger is going to get fat.
Psychedelics don't open your mind, they just alter your state of consciousness and make you think differently.
I really think they should be legalized, but this whole "we need them but the government doesn't want us thinking man" stuff is just false.
You wana know the actual reason its illegal? Because the counter culture used them, it had a medical and recreational use and no one really cared until hippies started popping acid and mescaline, the only reason its illegal is because it became viewed as un-patriotic since hippies were against the war.
Now, may I suggest that if this is your view on Psychedelics, that you eat 5 grams of shrooms, lock yourself in a room and blast albums by Slice the Cake and Psycroptic, lets see how "open" your mind gets.
Thats the point, take 5 grams of the substances that gives you the most unpredictable trip and listen to music that will freak you out... your mind will be very "open" then lol
oh you know... dissociatives (i know, not natural whatsoever) deliriants, cannabis... i tend to go "all the way" and usually way over my recommended dose when i do drugs..... and i know deliriants dont produce any insight but man that shits fun...
Let me put this in perspective: a 200 pound man taking 900mg of DXM has the trip of his life, im 120 and i can handle 1800 mg of that shit, but that was a longgggg time ago... meditation is wayyyyy better ive found... >.>
oh ya after my last trip my piss was straight up neon green, thats when i decided maybe drugs arent the best way for reaching enlightenment... edit which is not to say that you cant reach enlightenement through drugs, you can, you just have to know how to interpret the truth from the lies, so its good to have religious knowledge before you do drugs
DXM really isn't that trippy, I only tried it once and it was nice but I threw up a few times and was told later that I took a lethal dose... + DXM isn't bad, but the other stuff in the medicine destroys your liver.
Weed isn't a psychedelic, but you can get psychedelic experiences if you play your cards right.
Half-correct. Its classification has been a legal storm. Had legalization not been an issue, it would be labeled a psychedelic in a heart beat. But then again what does the government know about anything related to the exercise of free will?
Classifications mean nothing, class 1 is supposed to mean no medical use... strange how marijuana and heroin are class 1 but we still have medical marijuana, morphine and oxycotton.
Especially when the government makes them. You know when they first made the drug class system, class 1 was: Marijuana, LSD and Magic Mushrooms
Class 2 was: heroin, cocaine and some other stuff
Really, you put Mushrooms and weed (2 most harmless drugs on the planet) and put them above heroin?
-cough- special interests -cough-
Do you find those words as redundant as I do? Medicinal medicine.
Besides the fact that medicinal and marijuana sound the same, yes they do. Processed weed is already legal as medicine, however, marijuana is most effective when its cooked or dried, not processed with a bunch of filler chemicals.
