It has the potential to sink. Now if the government gets it together and builds levy's or does some form of barrier between the island and the ocean there is a chance it won't but it will be a man-made prevention. Areas that are below sea level like New Orleans, Tuvalu, Venice and various other locations are going to be met with the same problem. Rising water, sinking land. For a past example of this occurring before, look up Doggerland. It was a stretch of land that connected Great Britain to the European continent but is now under the southern North Sea. The state will not sink. If the sea level rising rate would be stable (3.5mm / year currently), it would take 285 years for the water to rise 1m. Because of the fact that global warming is a problem right now, many countries started to do something about it, using green energy, green cars, using newer and greener technology in factories , etc.. By the time the state of Tuvalu would sink, the problem with the global warming should be solved. If it would not be solved by then, We wouldn't exist anymore anyway. Side: It will not sink
Global warming endangers our health and threatens other basic human needs. A warming climate can cause seawater to expand and ice over land to melt, both of which can cause a rise in sea level and the major cause of global warming is CO2. Our personal vehicles are the main cause of global warming but, as we know, there are a lot of companies that build electric vehicles and this means 0 emissions. In the future, the normal petrol and diesel engines will be replaced by the electric engines and the level of CO2 emissions will severely decrease. In conclusion, the state of Tuvalu will not sink :D Side: It will not sink
Although alarming, the problems Tuvalu is facing will not lead to its sinking. That is because the situation does not rely solely on uncontrollable natural factors, but on man-made ones, such as massive sand excavation, which causes beach erosion. Therefore, the state’s leaders have the power to take further action in order to diminish the damage. Side: It will not sink
I believe the state of Tuvalu will not sink, apparently there have been made plenty of researches regarding this issue, actually the islands are affected by waves crashing into them, in this phenomenon sediments are transported from the nearby beaches and reefs being thrown onto the island, so the island is preserved and still growing. While Tuvalu may not sink, it is affected by erosion and flooding, making the life of people leaving near the coast much harder. Side: It will not sink
