Letting criminals, gangs and terrorists in without severe vetting is what a third world dictatorship would do. America protects its people of all colors from the above. That's who we are. That's what America is, a country worth protecting and preserving. It's a pity that you prefer trashing it like it's a dumpster and whining about foreign lives while murdering American children with not even a wince.
The exact same logic you apply to Russian foreigners, apply here, because you love your country enough to defend it.

We like all of those people, when they come legally. If they were Russians, you'd have built the wall yourself for the exact same reason.

That's a great idea, Herr Bronto. Poor people should be banned from reproducing. Only genes backed up by money should have the right to exist. Why didn't we think of this before?

First of all it's usually not the fault of poor people if their country, or life, is a shithole. To stop having babies like rabbits women would have to shut their husband off … try THAT even in THIS country …. especially if your religion leans toward the "supremacy" of men!
The problem today is, Trump doesn't give those "people we like" a CHANCE to come here legally, he won't even assign the judges to do it!
And the Russians. Do you actually think a "wall" would stop the Russians? No, I wouldn't even THINK of a wall to keep the Russians out! I WOULD think of getting rid of a President who makes it easier for them to get IN!
18 years ago there were FAR more of these people coming in, INVITED by the Republican President. They are now paying taxes, and most, by FAR feeding themselves. They are NOT mostly gang members, rapists, and criminals. Given a chance judges could weed that few out! Given a chance.....
Trump applied the exact same policy that Obama did. (Remember that viral photo of children in cages? That was taken during the Obama administration.)
The difference is that Trump changed the policy.
By the way, separating kids from arrested parents is what happens to all kids who are with parents arrested while breaking the law, US citizens included.
It is hard to tell because of how many kids were not actually with parents. We know lots of them were with people who had no familial DNA matches with the kids. (There is a fair amount of slave trading that goes across the border.)
Not reuniting kids with people who claim tobe their parents is not necessarily the same as keeping kids away from their parents. Sending kids to parents/guardians is not always a good thing for the kids, anyway.
The whole thing is a mess regardless of US response. Add to that the reality that government does everything poorly. The kids are guaranteed to have a hard time as a result of their parents breaking the law and the US government trying to enforce the law.
Obama applied the same policy that Trump does … with a LOT more consideration to families, women and children. He HAD to, it was the law. Problem is, Trump thinks he's ABOVE the law! We'll see.
Separating kids from their parents who go to jail happens IN COURT. If necessary, child protective services are brought in to see that they are take care of, and that they know WHERE, and with whom, they are!
Any similarity to what Obama and the courts do, compared to what Trump and McConnel do, is purely coincidental!

Are you saying that when a person is arrested for a crime in the US, the children stay with their parents in the cop car, are with their parents during the fingerprinting and mug shot, and then join them in jail while waiting for the arraignment?
I am sure you are suggesting no such thing.
I am sure you know, and are knowingly ignoring, the fact that at the moment of the arrest kids are separated from their arrested parents, and remain separated from their parents until their parents are released from custody. There are no jails where family units are kept together... except now, for illegal aliens only.
Those "parents" knew if they crossed the border they would have to give up their kids and voluntarily gave them up when doing so. They had a safe haven in Mexico and were offered refugee status, but decided to give up their kids to come to the US. Their claims of refugee status was no longer valid since they were no longer in their home country.

We have lots of pictures of that from before Trump was even President. Doesn't it make you feel sick that you ignored family seperations for 8 whole years?
