A man who signed a declaration stating that all men are created equal that every person was entitled for their own pursuit of happiness. Why was this man signing this declaration? He was doing so to get away from the oppression of a monarchy. To lead his life as he chose, and not how someone told him to. After having achieved the goal of making his country a place where all men are created equal. He turned his back on a large chunk of the population. He left some of the men unequal, as slaves. Turning a blind eye to them, basking in his freedom whilst black scholars like Benjamin Banneker watch in horror as their people are slaves to the very men who claimed to be freeing themselves of oppression from the British Crown.
