Thoughts on the Intellectual Dark Web

Hello A,

I must not be very intellectual, because I have no idea what the hell you’re talking about. For the plain man amongst us, can you please explain.

Sounds fascinating and I would like to learn more , I’ve read a list of some of the names involved and it’s a pretty impressive list .

It’s not like anything official. It’s really just the loose association of people who are tired of baseless ad hominem ruling the Intellectual environment of universities and media. They talk to each other dispite having staunch political disagreement and they want everyone else to return to such intellectual liberalism.

Sounds great , Intellectual bullying is a big problem in Universities and places of learning ; something very good could come from this and long may it continue

Hello again, A:

Ok, I googled it.. The first names to pop up were Alex Jones and Ben Shapiro. Sooooo, it appears the "intellectual dark web" is a platform for the alt right..

And, BECAUSE, of the inclusion of Alex Jones, a fellow who LIVES on conspiracy theory and the sales of butt cream, the term "intellectual" seems a bit farfetched.

Bwa, ha ha ha..

The inclusion of Alex Jones tells you more about the source (and googles priority algorithm) than it does about the dark web itself. Shapiro belongs on the list (he’s not alt-right, he’s their target), Jones does not.

I understand NY Times did a piece on the intellectuals involved. Other mainstream sources did support and opposition pieces of that article.

Basically it’s intellectuals who get de-platformed for their views rather than being countered by intellectual argument. They struggle to get a voice on campuses and are demonitized on YouTube. Facebook, Google etc use Algorithms to shuffle their content away from news and search feeds in exchange for what they deem to be more legitimate content. Alex Jones is not among them. Sam Harris is. As is Joe Rogen. They have people from the left and the right (though mostly on the right).

Though they aren’t alt-right, they are attacked as such. They may also be called racist, sexist, bigot, homophobe, and islamaphobe all to justify silencing them where possible, such as on college campuses.

Hello again, A:

Actually, I binged it, but I get your point..

You're talking to a founding member of the FREE SPEECH movement. I'm aghast that the lefty's gave it up, and the righty's are now tooting that horn..

It's always interesting how libs call vile things with lovely, positive names and can then turn around and repeatedly call good, neutral, or things that aren't pro liberal with sinister names.
