Torture acceptable but sex is not?

What does it say about society that mainstream movies that are made specifically to depict graphic violence as realistically as possible (Saw, Hostel, Human Centipede) but genuine sex scenes are considered too graphic?

How can splitting a persons ankles in full view or sewing a persons mouth to another's anus be OK, while aroused genitals and scenes of penetration (which are perfectly natural) are strictly forbidden?

Just to be clear I have no problem with either, I just consider it interesting that one which we regard asevil is right, while the other is not.

Well, penetration is real... the violence depicted in movie is all fantasy.

Do I agree completely with the MPAA standards? Not exactly, but:

1. It's not that big of a deal as long as it's not from the government. That's right, the MPAA is a private organization. Their ratings are not influenced by the government.

2. It's also not hypocritical since hypocrisy would imply that someone is doing something while telling others that they can't do it.

Side: not true

Because our culture is idiotic and hypocritical...? Theistic religion over a long period of time in the this country coupled with the multiple rebel cultures (hippies, activists, etc...) has caused the overall moral scheme of the country to be an oxymoron, the oxymoron being that violence is just fine in as long as it has age-specific ratings from the ESRP, while sex is a horribly disgusting thing that should always be given the highest age rating and never allowed to be shown in public theaters because it's SO DAMN GROSS AND YUCKY!

That's silly, no?

And that's the point.

Side: Hypocrisy

Plain and simple: That is how our society is.

This is one reason why i want to die. To get away from this earth and live in a place where evil just seems right and ok. Such as, why do we have to wear clothes? Why can we just be naked and show our breast and penis? I ask my family that and they think im crazy. But to be honest, those parts aren't really private parts. Society named those parts private/forbidden parts to show.

Is your ankles a private part as well? Because Middle Eastern women are forbidden to show their body.

Side: Hypocrisy

O__O I actually find it weird myself. I can understand sex not being shown to children because they'd get ideas in their head and we'd end up with more teen pregnancies. But I don't know exactly why torture is more acceptable. I guess because it's less realistic of someone trying torture? I guess because people know that torture has more painful consequences?

Idk..
