No, that's like blaming President Roosevelt's 1940 Presidential campaign speech in which he stated, ''your boys are not going to be sent to any foreign wars, and that is not just a campaign promise'', for encouraging the Germans even further and emboldening the Japanese to attack Pearl Harbour.

Yes, it's always a mistake, for everyone, including politicians, to say 'never'.

Situations change and the option of adopting the most appropriate measure(s) to meet any new challenge must never be ruled out.

Obama and the liberal media ignored Syria for 4 years until it became politically expedient. Now you get to see the pictures of the kids, as a political leftist propaganda weapon. Those kids have been slaughtered by Assad for a half decade. About 5 years ago I had foreign debaters asking me why the Americans weren't helping Syria. I found out the U.S. had a media blackout.

Hello bront:

I dunno.. You seem to be saying that since Obama did it first, it's OK if Trump copies him..

What you say is true. We SHOULD have gone in, taken Assad out, and tried him in Geneva for war crimes. But, we didn't.. IF there was a media blackout over it, it didn't work.. On MY favorite channel, MSNBC, I WATCHED the barrel bombs being thrown out of the Syrain (or Russian) helicopters.. Apparently, your favorite right wing media LIED to you about the blackout..

Dude!

It "didn't work" because people in the government aren't exactly "intellectuals" typically. They are used to money buying knowledge and power, but the internet has made their old tactics void, and it has them flummixed. The intellectuals now have a way around their propaganda techniques. George Soros was neutered by the internet. I watched him rise when knowledge was only in the library. He fell when knowledge was at the fingertip. Until they shut down or censor the internet(which the left proposes), they are inferior and at a disadvantage. As long as censorship is nonexistence, we will strip them down to see them and destroy them. The internet and truth are on the side of the right. That's why the leftist elites want "fake news" gone and censorship to prevail. It starts the mind monopoly.

I don't think "if Obama does it it is okay for Trump", but I can sure corner the left with their own doublething, cognitive dissonance logic.

No. It wasn't covered. I don't watch Fox News. Therefore the fact no one was covering Syria, means.... the liberal press wasn't covering Syria. Find us a link about how long the Syrian War has been going on. Then convince us they were making a big deal about Syria 5 years ago.

The Syrian Civil War (Arabic: الحرب الأهلية السورية‎‎, Al-ḥarb al-ʼahliyyah as-sūriyyah) is an armed conflict taking place in Syria. The unrest in Syria, part of a wider wave of 2011 Arab Spring protests, grew out of discontent with the authoritarian government of President Bashar al-Assad and escalated to an armed conflict after protests calling for his removal were violently suppressed.[91][92][93] The war is being fought by several factions: the Syrian government and its allies, a loose alliance of Sunni Arab rebel groups (including the Free Syrian Army), the majority-Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Salafi jihadist groups (including al-Nusra Front) who cooperate with the Sunni rebel groups, and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

No, I'm sure the Syrian poison gas attack is still somehow the fault of Clinton's private e-mail server.

Since president have been blaming previous presidents for decades, it is safe to say that, concerning the Syrian issue, the buck stops at Eisenhower. He's the last one who took responsibility. Everyone else just enherited a mess.

The Middle East has never not been slaughtering its own people. Of course, now we know why, as the aftermath of taking out these types of leaders has manifested. Without Sadaam Hussein, Kadafi, and Mobarek(all leaders we took out), ISIS takes over. You can't control the Middle East without brutal force. Kadafi's warnings to the West were right.

Hello again, bront:

I agree with you. We were hoping that the Arab Spring was a democratic revolution.. Wrong! Now, NEW strongmen have taken it back.

Philosophically, I don't LIKE a society ruled by strongmen.. I'm looking for a little civilization.. Yeah, I'm a bleeding heart..

Hello Ex-Con:

Trump had nothing to do with the Muslim gassing his people.

Wasn't it Obama who said Assad got rid of chemical weapons.

“Today we mark an important achievement in our ongoing effort to counter the spread of weapons of mass destruction by eliminating Syria’s declared chemical weapons stockpile. The most lethal declared chemical weapons possessed by the Syrian regime were destroyed by dedicated U.S. civilian and military professionals using a unique American capability aboard the M/V Cape Ray – and they did so aboard that U.S. vessel several weeks ahead of schedule.”

These were the opening remarks of a statement published by Obama’s White House on Aug.18, 2014.

The statement went on informing the American public that the elimination of Assad’s chemical weapons stockpile was “a major milestone.”

Hello o:

Of course it did.. Lemme ask you this.. If you THOUGHT the US was gonna BOMB you if you used chemical weapons, you probably WOULDN'T use them... And, THAT was our position for years..

Then on Monday, Trump said that whatever happens to Assad is up to the Syrian people... In other words, he told Assad that he's NOT gonna bomb them if they gassed their people.

And, on Tuesday, Assad gassed his people... But, there's no connection..

Bwa, ha ha ha ha ha...

PS> So far, even though we've disagreed, you've maintained your civility to me.. Now, that's changing.. If you wanna call me names, I'm BETTER at calling names than you are.. And, once I start down that road, there's NO turning back...

So, MIND your manners..

Even though words are important. It is known that actions speak louder than words. I mean, I find it ridiculous for us to expect that Trump will do everything he said he would do during his campaign. He said those things without knowing how things really are. Just like Obama said things during his campaign without really knowing how things are. As long as Trump follows his values there is no problem.

What I have is he values the life of babies and money. So ultimately his attack on Syria was either a justice action or an economic action. In either case, I am not sure it was the best move. But we'll see.

Obama won a nobel peace prize, then he bombed 7 nations, and liberals watched American Idol with not a care. At least he got the trophy first...

That two events happened in chronological order is not evidence of causation. Yet another blatant fallacy ("false cause") to add to the list.
