I don't think there's anything fucking wrong with it. I'm sick and fucking tired of people trying to say that the vocabulary is the biggest factor in an argument. It's not. What matters is the point these assholes try to get across. If they can get across a decent argument using bad language, fine and dandy. But if their argument consists of foul language simply to insult someone or just to dispute them without any thoughtful argument...they are worth ignoring.

Side: NO WAY

No, FUCK and ASSHOLE are just fucking words. What does it matter? All children will eventually hear this unless you live in a cave.

Fuck this whole entire debate, I mean half of the people posting on the side I am supporting don't even speak fucking English. I mean the debate creator couldn't even write the debate title right.

If you can't take vulgar words, you can ignore them. Sticks and stones can break your bones but fucking words don't mean shit.

We are in the assumption here that most people joining these debates are mature people. Sometimes, people need to get a point across with the intensity that many other words can't. In these cases, though not many, it is probably justifiable so.

For example,

It is wrong to eat another human being alive.

versus

It is fucking wrong to eat another human being alive.

Sometimes, swear words contain an intensity and emotion no other words can replace, although i would not contend that many times swear words are not used to get a point across but just for insults or being derogatory.

In the end, words are just words. I believe there is no such thing as offending people. just people choosing to be offended.

I couldn't agree more. There is no such thing as "bad" words, just the way they are used in context. Fuck is defined in the dictionary as an exclamation which further supports your argument that it "contains an intensity and emotion no other words can replace".

no...but what the fuck do i know. i dont mind and others dont seem to mind that much other wise they would * it out

Bad words - there's no such thing as bad words, it's how they are used in context that are bad.

Fuck is in the Oxford Dictionary and defined as an exclaimation.

Asshole, when using it to define someone as one, is not appropriate to validate one's argument.

As for using "swear words" in general, it is just another way of saying "censorship".

I don't thnk itz wrong at all... unless itz a very serious debate!!! If the other person doesn't mind it therez nthng wrong with it!!!

That argument is just stupid. I thought CreateDebate was for intelligent people who debated, not for people who insult each other. I agree with you that it isn't okay, but you don't need to be a hypocrite.

That's not the point. The entire reason this debate is taking place is because cussing is an all around bad thing. It doesn't matter whether or not you're even with each other.

I think that unless it's a silly debate, you're using a direct quote, or there's really no other way to get your point across, using profanity doesn't actually further your argument. Being professional is a better way to argue, and this include spellchecking, proofreading, and forming coherent arguments as well as refraining form profanity. I have used profanity on this site, and will again; however, it's usually not when I'm trying to get a point across.

President Truman won his presidency in part, because he cussed on occasion. People saw him as a real person, and it won them over. Sometimes, using profanity comes across as more real. Intelligence and profanity don't have to exist in two separate worlds. Also, the debate is about whether the words are wrong on this site. Since you've used them here before, I'd expect you to be on the other side.

Why wouldn't it be a bad thing. Some people registered on CreateDebate.com are teenagers, including me. If you think about it logically, using cuss words gives teenagers a bad attitude and it grows. Some teens deal with this attitude by working out, taking it all out on the equipment, to the point where if anyone starts a fight with them, they win within 10 minutes. Maybe, one day, you might meet one of these people and they start fighting with you.

to me, using bad words is for uncivilised people, in which they shouldn use it. They sound bad and its just totally wrong. i dun get why people want to use them. Schools arent teaching you this so you shouldnt even learn it. Well you just have to know what's the meaning in case somebody scolded you with it, you wont look like a fool. Instead of scolding them back, try think back..why dont hold on your anger and think; there's no use being angry for these uncivilised people. right? so i suggest to hold on ur temper and just say thank you and YOU TOO. AT LEAST that's more polite, isnt it? XD

how can you help it .i came on here thinking it was going to be civil.i was wrong and so have acted accordingly to abuse. But dont piss me off....the kids on here swear like troopers.I'm sure they have heard it all before CD came into there lives.and if their that young why are their irresponsible parents allowing them to join such a site..i find it more disturbing that a lot of kids are putting too much info regarding themselves ; names, what they look like and where they live and go to school etc..............................DANGER DANGER DANGER
