Sv3rige, I have already addressed this point. The following is an excerpt copy-pasted from a previous thread:

Furthermore, in real life, I am 6'2"-6'3" and typically stay around 225lbs with a BF under 10% and have regular physical training regiment as a part of my life as hobby/interest. That is, changing to Vegan eating has had no effect on that sort of lifestyle and I am always shocked/shake my head to see that many people still attempt to assert/claim that you can't be physically strong/fit on a Vegan diet (people who know me IRL would not just assume I'm Vegan and when it does occasionally come up are typically very surprised to find out because it is breaking the stereotype)

I would add, I have been 240+ lbs. with low bf as a vegan (and could easily get bigger if desired, I just choose to stay at a certain body frame). Furthermore, I was a Security Guard for nearly 5 years (partly while vegan). That is, it has no effect on ones ability to become/stay physically strong/fit and the claim that "Vegans have small muscles" due to being vegan is a baseless assertion. Now, are there many thin/physically underdeveloped vegans? Sure. This goes for non-vegans as well however and is due to other factors.

The soy has estrogen, you must have a lot of testicles if you not become more girly from it. Some people have good gene, this is the only explanation for the rare vegans who are healthy because most vegans are very unhealthy. The soy makes cancer for women and low T for men, but some just have the balls of steel or have good gene enough to resist the soy on rare ocasion. The monsantos GMO soy especially is loading with the phyto estrogens and hormone blockage.

I'm naturally mostly ectomorph body-type. That is, if I didn't train I wouldn't be built the way I am at all.

Here is a medical publication from a meta-analysis done that concludes otherwise: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19524224

That may work for some, and good for you, if it works for you. My brother's mother-in-law (a wonderful lady) was vegan for years, and skinny as a rail. She kept getting weaker - her doctor told her if she didn't start getting some meat protein in her diet on a regular basis, she was going to die.

She started eating a little chicken and fish, and getting a little more protein from some other animal products (like eggs), and I'm happy to say she's much better.

Again, I have no problem with someone else choosing, and understand it can work for some. Others have trouble digesting plant proteins, and suffer for it. I used to bodybuild, and got a lot of my protein from vegetables, but never anywhere near all. We're not all the same, and by nature, we are omnivores.

I have addressed this point elsewhere so below is a copy-paste of a previous post of mine (and you could find other posts of mine on this topic also if you wanted to know more about where I stand):

@Sv3rige.

xMathFanx: So I think we have agreement about Factory Farms being an illegitimate enterprise, do you agree with that? Now, as for laws, I certainly in no way speak for Vegans as a group, in my view, what should be illegal is Factory Farming and obvious/blatant wicked mass torture/torment slaughterhouses. I certainly do not think that hunting and fishing should be illegal. Also, I don't think that other types of farming where the animals are not being tortured 24/7 should be illegal although I think there should be higher standards for the animals life quality while alive and the way that they are killed should be in as least amount of pain as is feasible (e.i. I don't agree with these practices but I don't think they should be illegal either in the way that I think Factory Farming should be illegal). Would you agree with this legal framework in principle?

Sc3rige: "...tell me how it is you can get DHA on plant based diet?"

xMathFanx: I mentioned diet in a previous thread. Speaking for myself, I have not experienced any adverse health effects as of now being 4+ years vegan. Now, if I did experience adverse effects at some point in the future with substantial reason to believe that it was connected to my vegan lifestyle, then I would progressively (in a "climb the ladder" format) introduced meat back into my diet with the principle in mind of committing the least amount of pain I could and maintain a healthy diet/lifestyle for myself. In theory, "climbing the ladder" would look like this:

0. Vegan

1. Clams, Muscles, ect.

2. Fishing (Going fishing myself)

3. Other seafood that I could potentially "fish" for myself

4. Hunt mammals

5. Local Farming

Now, going up from one stage of the ladder to the next I would require a lot of evidence of its necessity/utility to do so (because the cost for the animals is so high) but I do not object to the ethics of this framework. People have a right to live healthy lives if possible. I think we would both agree that this is not what is happening at all at the moment however?
