WHY do we need a story to tell us the beginning, is it even important at this point?
The beginning of how everything started, at this point, just seems kind of unimportant to me. Why does it matter how we got here? We should just be happy we are and concentrate on the present and future and stop running ourselves crazy trying to find the beginning.
I've been thinking a lot today, dont' ask, I may just be going crazy ;)

Humanity's insatiable thirst for knowledge is why we need a story for everything, let alone the beginning. We are hellbent on answering questions that only produce more questions, and I don't know why this is. And so it is considered important, because it gives us our fix. We just seem like a big group of junkies, craving a solution to everything. Side: Yes we do

I didn't say it was necessary at all. I said I want to, but if the history of science has told us anything, it as taught us that we often gain useful information seeking things that don;t seem very useful. In terms of beginnings searching for the beginning of the universe is liable to help us understand the most fundamental structure of the universe and that will very likely help us to wondrous things. Seeking the development of species is basically the foundation all biology is based on. Understanding where humans came from will help understand what we are. Side: Yes we do
