I'm in the Real Estate business and a lot of see the inevitable collapse of the dollar and world currency. Just last week more countries have put their money into the IMF International Monetary Fund. I can write a whole book on this but I wont bore you. But to make a cashless society based purely on credit with no monetary or "Cash Paper" makes all the sense one day that we will all be forced to take the chip or suffer.

We have the chip, but not the infrastructure, the monetary backing, the long term safety data, the political system, or any means by which to get them. We have the technology to do this like we have the technology to clone organs- sort of, but not in any meaningful way. There is some technology, but not enough. We've had the technology for an Orwellian world for fifty years, and it hasn't happened- why should this? It's just a bunch of people being paranoid.

No I would not consent. The government works for me and our country and they belong to us. We don't belong to them. Consenting to such a thing would be worse than Communism, probably even more like slavery. And who would ever consent to being a slave?

I would not agree as it would feel like an invasion of privacy. I don't think it would be for the government to have an easy way to check up on you wherever you go and whatever you do. For convicted felons this may be a good solution to control them, but not for average citizens.

While this is probably a really effective way to stop pretty much all crime and wrongdoing, it's a massive invasion of privacy. When you were a teenager, did you ever sneak out, or go to a party you weren't supposed to, or sneak a kiss when you weren't allowed, or skip school or experiment with illegals? Of COURSE you did, everyone experiments. Your parents could instantly know exactly where you were and what you were doing at all times.

Your spouse could tell if you were cheating, of course, but also where you buy their birthday present, and every time you become aroused- whether or not you're unfaithful.

A huge part of society is trust, and ninety-five percent of people will never do anything wrong. However, having every person monitored constantly makes "good" and "bad" meaningless- the only people who are free are the very, very young and the insane, those who can't understand that they're trapped.

So, no, I wouldn't. I will never kill anyone. I will never steal, rape, or pummel. I will never do hard drugs, or become a terrorist. However, that would stop mattering if I were implanted with a chip. Even if you wouldn't cheat independently on a test, it stops mattering when you have to take it in a room by yourself. The fact that you did not cheat loses all value.

Even if they said they only wanted to monitor people for signs of terroristic activity or major criminal activity (i.e. rape, murder or armed robbery), eventually that would be extended by Big Brother. They may decide that they would like to use it for other purposes that I don't even want to consider. It is not so much the invasion of privacy that bothers me as much as the fact that it can be misused by some person who thinks he is "more equal " than you, or that he is God almighty's incarnation come to set right the whole world, and cure it of all "evils", that is bothersome. Different people have their own rules of life and live by their own ideas of right and wrong, and so long as these ideas are not destructive or intrusive on others, it makes for a beautiful life for all. Hardly cloning organs and technology for micro chipping is a poor analogy. Just look at computers and cell phones in the last 20 years who would have thought that we would be at a point where information is at an instant.
