Was Allen West's Angry E-mail Appropriate?

What are members of Congress supposed to do on the House floor? Certainly not debate policy, according to GOP Rep. Allen West.

Yes, if the email was not physically harmful, then yes. Plus, Wasserman-Schultz is what he said.

Just because something is legal doesn't mean it is always appropriate.

I think it was a rather well-stated email.

"Well-stated" does not make it appropriate. And given what Wesserman-Schultz said about him, it was not an appropriate response.

Side: No

The question is why was it appropriate? Not weather it was, it totally was. Freedom of speech.

Side: yes

actually it is "Was Allen West's Angry E-mail Appropriate?" - which definitely asks whether it is appropriate - especially after reading the description. Not sure if the title changed after this post.

Freedom of speech doesn't make all speech appropriate.

Yes! If that old hag can dish out her lies, then she should be prepared for what's coming back at her!

What lies did she tell exactly?

Add to the fact that these emails are inappropriate. The point isn't that the email is inherently correct or not. The point is that this email is inappropriate. Sure, Debbie may have no dished out correct statements but the response is utterly unacceptable.

Well, the quote would have been helpful. However, debating policy is their job and West is an idiot.

Her statement:

"The gentleman from Florida. who represents thousands of Medicare beneficiaries, as do I, is supportive of this plan that would increase costs for Medicare beneficiaries, unbelievable from a Member from South Florida" full clip

Subject: Unprofessional and Inappropriate Sophomoric Behavior from Wasserman-Schultz

Look, Debbie, I understand that after I departed the House floor you directed your floor speech comments directly towards me. Let me make myself perfectly clear, you want a personal fight, I am happy to oblige. You are the most vile, unprofessional ,and despicable member of the US House of Representatives. If you have something to say to me, stop being a coward and say it to my face, otherwise, shut the heck up. Focus on your own congressional district!

I am bringing your actions today to our Majority Leader and Majority Whip and from this time forward, understand that I shall defend myself forthright against your heinous characterless behavior……which dates back to the disgusting protest you ordered at my campaign hqs, October 2010 in Deerfield Beach.

You have proven repeatedly that you are not a Lady, therefore, shall not be afforded due respect from me!

Steadfast and Loyal

after I departed the House floor you directed your floor speech comments directly towards me

No. She described your opinion on the bill (you are a co-sponsor of HB 2560), and gave her position on the bill. Maybe you were the rude one to leave the floor when people were discussing the bill?

you want a personal fight

No - she wants a political one - that's why she's in Congress...

You are the most vile, unprofessional ,and despicable member of the US House of Representatives.

Certainly not for the comments above, but your opinion is your opinion.

shut the heck up

I don't see that happening...

Focus on your own congressional district!

Actually, members of Congress deal with national policy - not state and local policy which would be the State Legislature. Also, she is focusing on her district - since you live in her district and not yours...

I shall defend myself

um, really? I'll avoid the psychoanalysis and just say please do defend your political positions - that's how Congress works...

proven repeatedly that you are not a Lady

I won't ask...

shall not be afforded due respect from me

now I'm just being picky - you actually mean that she is not due any respect - not that she is due respect and you won't give it to her...

the disgusting protest you ordered at my campaign hqs, October 2010 in Deerfield Beach

the real reason for any of this....

Side: No

He is a radical and his views hinder him all the time. He will never be elected President.
