I think that is somewhat sexist, suggesting that women belong in the kitchen and shouldn't have jobs.

I tend to always resent those statements that states that being in the kitchen is not a job. The classic housewife is generally not a lazy and immobile individual. Being "home with the kids" is not an easy task. Further, the quote is not sexist. It simply is creating a division of labor, which is not really sexist. Creating a schism between sexes is not really sexist if the work involved is equal. A housewife is not doing less than a woman in work since the work involved may be great indeed. Stating that one sex is more proficient in a certain activity, as I believe the quote above states, is not sexist.

It really depends on the woman. I do know, however that it hardly applies in modern American culture, mostly because this young generation of women... can't cook worth a damn!

"What do you think of this quote?"

I think it's grammatically incoherent.

I think the quote, "A woman's place belongs in the kitchen." Sucks, sucks, sucks. Women are not cooking/procreating machines, they can do other things just as good as men (if not better.) I can't cook worth a dang and I can pound or outrun most any guy. So apparently I excel at other things besides cooking. Btw, have you ever heard of Anne Boleyn? Queen of England, 2nd wife of Henry VIII. She was crazy smart and had enough control over the King to influence politics and to promote the reformation. Anne Boleyn did not limit herself to the kitchen.

you'll be happier with this quote then

Women's place is in the House, and Senate

(and Cabinet and the White House, etc)

I do not agree with this at all. Believe it or not my partner cooks and enjoys the kitchen more than I do (and NO he is not homosexual or bi-sexual)

Side: sexist

I agree with it, for the most part. The man works, the female procreates. The female watches over the children - should that not also include preparing food?

"A Womans Place Belongs In The Kitchen." I think the quote sucks!

It should be "A Woman's Place is In The Kitchen unless she cant cook......in that case its the bedroom"

When I'm in the kitchen, I try to cook.

When I try to cook, the microwave explodes.

It's men wanting to insult the opposite sex for being more skilled then them in every other topic then sports and fitness. Men feel that a woman should know how to cook him his dinner every night if they get into a good healthy relationship and the common term relating to this one is "Yeah cool story babe, now make me a sandwich". Men that say this term are just to lazy to get their fat asses up and learn to make something for themselves.

I can’t say that “the feminine place in the kitchen” is a stereotype that has passed from century to century. The fact is that every woman loves to cook, and she needs a lot of equipment for this. MY wife loves to cook deliciously, and every day something new awaits us for dinner, I decided that wholesale kitchen utensils would be a very cool and useful gift for her, so I bought a complete set for her.
