What Would You Do if You Found an Abandoned Egg Outside?
I found an abandoned egg today, out by my unopened pool. It's a big egg, the size of a chicken egg. I've had mallards coming and going... every spring they spend some time swimming around in my pool cover so I assume it's a mallard egg?
Take care of it.

I would take it inside and look it over with a flashlight. If it is fertilized you should be able to see red lines running through the yolk and the egg will look opaque. Chances are it was abandoned because the mother duck or whatever knew it wasn't fertilized. Side: Take care of it.

I would take good care of it like it was my own baby, just like my chickens are my babies. Thank God they are going to start laying eggs next month. That's going to be a beautiful sight, I am going to be proud of all 12 of my babies. =D Side: Take great care of it because its a baby

You will know if it's dead because it would start stinking, hold it up to a bright light and you might be able to see what's in the egg. You are suppose to keep a heating lamp or whatever you are using 5 feet away from an egg so you don't cook it, I bet you would feel terrible if that were to happen. Side: Take care of it.
If your a good person, with all the patience and time you need.. Take care of. If not? Leave it alone.. Messing with it is worse! If your hungry though and have no food, no money, no neighbors, you haven't eaten for days and all you have is a pan.. Survival of the fittest! Eat it up and promise you'll make it up in Heaven! Side: Take care of it.
