What about Thanksgiving?

It seems like right after Halloween everyone starts getting ready for Christmas. We have A true good American holiday, and nobody seems to care.

If you are at all patriotic, don't skip thanksgiving!

I refuse to acknowledge Christmas until after Thanksgiving. Corporate America just keeps pushing it back each year to make more money.

Well, I love thanksgiving, but that has nothing to do with me being patriotic...considering I'm not particularly. x] I just reeeeaaallly like the food, and seeing my family.

We've all heard the Thanksgiving-is-a-celebration-of-bloodshed-deceit-and-betrayal spiel, so I won't bother repeating it. But it's largely how I feel.

You kind of did repeat it but whatever.

Anyways, you're wrong. Thanksgiving is actually the celebration of capitalism. link

Sorry you had to be taught the "America's bad" version that is being taught in many schools today.

I wasn't taught any version of Thanksgiving that deferred from the traditional giving of thanks for assistance from the Natives. Unfortunately, Thanksgiving is not a celebration of capitalism or friendship. Thanksgiving was actually established after each massacre of the Natives by the settlers, when they would give thanks for their bloody fortune.

Here's the true story of Thanksgiving, told by the ancestors of those who lived it.

I hate Thanksgiving. Sure, the idea behind it is fine. Give thanks, that's a good thing. But my family always fought at Thanksgiving over politics, and you couldn't get stoned before eating, which kind of ruins "all you can eat" for me.

I'm happily spending Thanksgiving with friends this year, getting stoned, eating a ton, and playing games.
