I am against hate-speech legislation because I am for freedom of speech. I can't possibly be for both. Hate speech laws infringe upon freedom of speech. You wish to discriminate against certain groups you disagree with. It is people like you who wish to endanger one of the highest-held American ideals, using so-called "hate" as an excuse.
You might want to look into what the law actually allows. Generally speaking, hate speech is protected by the first amendment. This means it can never be illegal to use obscene, vulgar or riotous language. No, the legislation against hate speech may apply only to cases of imminent violence (so-called "fighting words").
Affirmative action is a discriminatory policy. Surely you aren't going to argue that it isn't?
Affirmative action fights existing, hidden discrimination in the workplace. If affirmative action were struck down, that discrimination against minorities would still exist covertly and it would be unmitigated.
I don't support gay adoption and I do support Don't Ask, Don't Tell...oooo, what a hatemonger.
Correct. Homosexuals are a persecuted minority and remain second-class citizens in our supposedly freedom-loving democracy. They pay their taxes, work their jobs, but are given less freedom than everyone else.
Immigration I oppose for many sound reasons, this being one of them http://www.boston.com/news/globe/ideas/articles/2007/08/05/the_downside_of_diversity/
You do realise the flaw in that article and your reasoning, don't you?
When diverse populations exist in segregation, it causes them to compete with each other often violently. Protestants versus Catholics, Italians versus Mexicans, the Chinese versus Muslims, etc. When these groups are forced together, however, the divide weakens because of constant exposure to what would be enemies otherwise.
If you take that report in context, you should see (in terms of trust):
A homogeneous society is most trusting (least fear), a heterogeneous society is in the middle (some fear), a homogeneous society segregated is least trusting (most fear).
Since gene flow dictates that populations without separation should homogenise, it must follow that the heterogeneous society will eventually become homogeneous due to mixed breeding.
