What are some interesting theories on the afterlife you've heard, or your expectations?

There was this book I read awhile back that had an inte;resting theory.

That the afterlife is the same as Earth, except you age backwards, and then once you are a baby again you are reborn on Earth and repeat.

Or, another one I've heard, the "light" you see is actually you exiting your new mothers womb and you just start over like that.

I like the first one I said personally. It's like living two lives, and you'll age backwards so you can do the things you didn't get to do the first time around.

Side: Things I've heard

Then that means that instead of dying, you end as a gleam in your daddy's eyes. You'll end up as an orgasm..., backwards. What a way to go ;)

Inside of each living thing there is this immortal miniature of itself. When the big one dies, the miniature goes off in search of a new body in which to live. In this way there can be no new life without death.

Dinesh D'Souza makes a few scientific attempts at explaining the afterlife. For instance, he regularly claims that because dark matter is undetectable, it is possible that the spirit/soul of a person is re-incarnated in dark matter form.

This one's from Papua New Guinea, if I'm not mistaken:

There is this cacodaemoniacal figure who lives below a cliff. At the edge of the cliff there are trees, to which cling the spirits of those not honorably slain in battle. Once the weight of the spirits becomes too great, the tree falls, and this demon catches most of them in her net. She then brews them, and uses their skulls as drinking cups, to feed her family.

I've heard that when you die, you win every Create Debate argument and you start out with more points than JC ;)

Side: Things I've heard

I've heard that in the after life, like in real life, there's an after birth ;)

Side: Things I've heard

I beleive Llfe and death, or existence and non-existence are not independent, drawing any distinction between seems like a fallacy to me.

What's the point of debating on something that no one as a close idea of the subject. I do believe in life after death but I have no idea or I dont want to even have one on what and how it is going to be...

But what I really think is going to happen is nothing. We're dead and that's it, then nothing.

Side: What I think

However the dark matter thing sounds ludicrous, and death is what it says. Death. Dead, lifeless, no more, singing with the invisible choir, deceased, ended, ceased to exist!

I expect to die. What happens after that? Who knows? I don't really think anything, but I'm not going discount the possibility of either nothingness or an afterlife.

I don't think anything will happen. I think it'll be over. I just want to make sure my life was worth living, as I don't believe in an afterlife.

I think that electro-chemical activity in the brain ceases and the emergent construct we call our mind dissipates to nothingness. In a way you never die because you never experience death. infinite non being, a non-state because it is devoid of all relationality
