What could be classified as being 'supernatural'?

Telekinesis?

Telepathy?

Astrology?

Karma?

Paranormal?

Science doesn't seem to be able to answer these questions - but innumerable people claim to have witnessed such things.

Anything that is "out of normal" can be called supernatural. Flying things, invisible people, telegraphy, stuff.....

Science also cant define what is gobbeldegook

and for the same reasons : the descriptions are to vague and abstrakt and therefore can not be tested in any quantafiable way.

Telekinesis?

Telepathy?

I have never see any evidence either exists outside fiction. But if it did whether it was "supernatural" or not would be dependent on how it was supposed to be occuring.

Astrology?

Idiocy is not supernatural.

Karma?

You could probably count it as supernatural if you think it's some kind of magical force permeating the world exacting retribution and rewarding good behavior and not just a purely mental concept.

Of course that would drop into the "never seen any evidence it exists" category as well.

Paranormal?

Like, ghosts? If they existed, sure you could call them supernatural. They don't exist, but far be it from me to contradict such well established authorities as shows produced by the sci-fi network.

Science doesn't seem to be able to answer these questions - but innumerable people claim to have witnessed such things.

I can also probably produce several thousand young people who would swear to have seen monsters in their closets. Individual testimonies not backed up by any objective evidence are notoriously unreliable. And science "doesn't seem to answer these things" mostly because it doesn't bother trying.

You have absolutely no proof of any of your claims. Many learned people claim to have witnessed telekinesis, the existence of spirits is open for debate - these were simply meant as examples.

I do not believe in most of those things - but many people do.

That's funny. Really.

(You): "Telekenesis."

(Me): "I see no evidence of that..."

(You): "You have no proof that you see no evidence of that!!!"

Now... where do you think you took a bit of a wrong turn here?

The person claiming something exists is supposed to be providing the evidence. Not the person pointing out that they haven't provided that evidence.

And I couldn't care less that lots of people believe they've seen telekenesis. Like I said, lots of people belive they've seen monsters in their closets. Lots of people believe they've seen David Blaine actually levitate. Lots of people believe they've seen lots of things that are pure crap and never happened. In the absence of objective evidence that their testimonies are accurate "eye witness" accounts are notoriously highly unreliable. Did you miss the part where I pointed this out the first time around?

Supernatural... Let us break it up.. Super.. Natural Defined.. Something that is above nature.. above the scope of the nature of the world. Natural Laws, the laws by wich the world is run. Therefore the only thing that are supernatural are the things taht are created by the mind. If something exists in this world then it in following the nature of the world, and so must be natural.
