What do you think of the Royal Family?
What do you think of the Royal Family? A family notorious for their pomp and class, whilst maintaining the important roles that keep the publicity England receives at a higher level than most.
Things to consider:
William and Harry went to Eton
Their family tree can be traced back to German families without looking further back than 200 years
The Queen is the richest person in England and claims to be helping keep the country in order whilst some people are homeless and she has three castles
They are well known for their roles in the military
I am a British citizen. Besides the obvious that they do bring more money into the country from tourists and the awesome fact that someone's Grandma is head of the military I don't really see the purpose of the Royal Family. The Queen has three castles whilst some people are homeless yet she speaks of fairness. Is that fair? NO! The reason I am disputing your argument is because I think that whilst I share your view of not wholly approving of them, I do not think that the fact "most British citizens approve of them" is entirely accurate. Could you please tell me what things you have heard for you not to approve of them yourself? 1

well, if you believe the covers of some of our more retarded newspapers (Daily Mail, the Express, all those bloody red tops etc) then it would appear we do. However, that is more of a media facade than anything else, most Britons, especially the Scottish and the Welsh, who historically hate the English, when asked if they care about the Jubilee, will usually reply with: "Couldn't give less of a shit." Thank you! I can see that very well. Same thing here in the US. Some newspapers give Obama a higher approval and some newspapers give Romney a higher approval. Truth is, as you said, the media can't be trusted. I just heard from some British people that the Royal Family is supported. I wasn't positive that they were. I was just posted what I have heard. 1
