CreateDebate is a social debate community built around ideas, discussion and democracy.
If this is your first time checking out a debate, here are some quick tips to help get you started:
Arguments with the highest score are displayed first.
Argument replies (both in favor and in opposition) are displayed below the original argument.
To follow along, you may find it helpful to show and hide the replies displayed below each argument.
To vote for an argument, use these icons:
You have the power to cast exactly one vote (either up or down) for each argument.
Once you vote, the icon will become grayed out and the argument's score will change.
Yes, you can change your vote.
Debate scores, side scores and tag scores are automatically calculated by an algorithm that primarily takes argument scores into account.
All scores are updated in real-time.
To learn more about the CreateDebate scoring system, check out the FAQ.
When you are ready to voice your opinion, use the Add Argument button to create an argument.
If you would like to address an existing argument, use the Support and Dispute link within that argument to create a new reply.
It seems as though many people misunderstand the word "debate" to mean "argument." I came on this site hoping it would be a collection of people who used educated, fact-based points to exchange ideas and possibly help each other become closer to the objective truth. However, it seems as though, it is just more people who are uninterested in facts and pragmatism, and would rather argue about which "side" or political party is right (and they already know they're right, so don't try confusing them with facts and logic).
Topic genre seems to come in waves here. You just happened to turn up during a bout of what looks to be a bit of political trolling. It will switch back to religion in no time.
Haven't we all, you 2 Mr Hellno, but we have fun that's what matters, you should know by now dealing with me over the last 2 years when I am being real I drop some knowledge, but most of the time we both are just having fun, pretty much trolling, but other then that I will battle the best of them in debates when I didn't drink to much that night lol ..
P.S. I'd like to throw out a bone to a few Euros on here that are the exception. ... Nebling, Shout, Ashman (or is he an Aussie?) And even Jungle-Boy because he's just as hateful about Europe.
On the rare occasion that I "get out", I usually don't busy myself in trying to engage in much controversy at all....So yeah......I was expecting a debate site to attract people more interested in things like "justifying one's logic as far down as possible"
I learned that even if you go online to a site specifically for debating hardly anyone likes being pressed on such matters.
People like to make little quippy personal jabs (like what prologos did) rather than engage in in-depth controversy. True in general population AND at CreateDebate. Perhaps not true in a good philosophy class.
