For me, top prize has to go to former President Richard Milhous Nixon when he stated, "Well, I'm not a crook!" in the wake of Watergate and virtually all of his top White House aides having to resign. Instead of waiting to be impeached because of the Watergate scandal and his part in the cover-up, he resigned his office on August 9, 1974. He bears the distinction of being the only American president to do so. His successor, Gerald Ford, later pardoned him for any and all Federal offenses he may have committed while in office.

Gerald Ford, later pardoned him for any and all Federal offenses he may have committed while in office. Thus setting the standard for future/current "non crooks".

The biggest lie I've ever heard has to be Bush's "Mission Accomplished" speech he gave on that aircraft carrier. Thousands of soldiers have died since that day and it's clear that the "Mission" is still nowhere close to being "Accomplished".

The biggest lie I ever told was, "I promise I won't come in your mouth."
