What is the most somebody should be forgiven for?

Everybody does things wrong in life. Whether by accident, provoked or just having a bad day as well as other reasons.

If I accidentally spilt water on someone I would say sorry but would they forgive me? Should they forgive me? If I then thumped somebody should they forgive me to a different extent or not at all?

Should everyone be treated the same despite what they have done said, or inflicted upon others? Is there a point when they should no longer be forgiven because of what they have done?

definably depends. if some one stole a gift card from you, you should forgive them, but not lightly. if they spilled water down your back, you should forgive them immediately. if they murdered someone, never, never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever forgive them. unless, it somehow was an accident (like feeding you Brussels sprouts....)

I think it would depend on whatever somebody did for them to deserve the punishment of being forgiven to different lengths.

There are unforgivable things like murder which often cannot be mentally forgiven for however hard somebody tries. If someone accidentally fell over on top of you and knocked a book out of your hand by accident, said sorry and meant it then they should obviously be forgiven for we are only human and everyone makes errors. But what separates us from others is how we try to stop making those errors as frequently.

You should always forgive someone, just like they would (hopefully) do the same for you. But, depending on what they did, don't give them your trust back so easily.

Jesus said we could be forgiven at any time and as many times as needed! all we have to do is pray and ask for forgivness. Jesus understands that we are only human and its human nature to commit sins of all types!!

If you were forgave fore everything you ever did wrong then people would be less inclined to do good, especially if these things were performed on purpose, out of cold blood.

The hman nature may have a nature to commit sins, but are they of all types? Should someone be forgiven for something they feel no regret for? Something they planned out without looking in retrospect afterwards?

I am not saying you should be forgiven for nothing. For instance if someone fell over on top of you by accident then yes, forgive them as Jesus would. But if they massacre a town on purpose in clod blood they may be more inclined to copy what they have done again and again until they lose control and do not care what anyone thinks.
