-When brushing my teeth, I wet the brush, then turn the water off until I'm ready to rinse.
-Switched all my lights to compact flourescent bulbs (CFCs).
-All of my charging devices (phone, computer, etc) are plugged into one power strip, that I shut off when I'm not charging anything.
-I drink filtered water, but I don't buy bottled water because it's just more plastic to throw away.
-Oh yeah, and I recycle.
What else ya got? If we all did the little things, it would add up in a big way!

Those are all great little things that each of us can do to help the environment. Don't forget to carpool when possible as well!

I found some more great ideas in the link below from Al Gore's new site.

I bought a diesel truck but now that I am paying such high diesel pricesI kind of regret it. I need a hybrid but which one is best? I want it to be more luxurious than a Prius. Ideas?

I'm sure it won't take much to be more luxurious than your diesel truck ;)

The economics of a hype-brid is likely to pay off unless you keep your car for 5+ years.

Depends upon the cost of gasoline in the future. Think about it like an option on the future cost of gas. You pay a little extra now for the option to pay relatively less later. If the cost rises a lot, the impact on you is buffered by your better gas mileage. If gas doesn't go up, your option wasn't "in the money," but your overall operating costs were only slightly higher than if you hadn't gone for the hybrid. Does that make sense?

Personally, I make sure I buy one of those compact fluorescent lamps every single time that I need to replace an old bulb. Also, I use water-soluble lubricant.
Tree Hugger is a good blog about helping the environment too. Let's debate some of their "efficiencies"

All those things don't even add up to half of what china's going to be doing in a few years. All the developing nations are going to be burning down their rainforests and burning gas like crazy. Our consumption's just a drop in the world bucket. We need to find some way to convince people over there to cut it out, otherwise what we do practically doesn't matter at all.

We can't just blame other people and say we're not going to do anything because other countries are using a lot of energy too. The US is still the largest emitter of Carbon Dioxide and user of energy in the world. We need to think globally but act locally, as the saying goes.

How can we convince people to cut their energy use if we don't ourselves??? It's just as easy for them to say "Well, America doesn't care, they're the real problem" It's something that everyone could get into, no effort is too small, it all adds up.

Ok, save your judgment on this one until you try it. I also realize that those of you that live with girls won't be able to get away with this one. But for the Bachelors out there living by themselves... I adopted the old adage "If it's yellow, let it mellow, if it's brown, flush it down" STOP! Before you blow this off, let me just say that this system dropped my water bill from $65/month to $18/month... I'm saving an average of 20 gallons of water PER DAY! Bachelors, enjoy the extra beer money.

I pick my nose and flick it on the ground in the hopes that it fertilizes something. I mean, you just never know. Maybe it's food for little mites or something. I know it's not much but you asked for the little things. Oh, and I wash and re-use my zip-lock bags. What? Is that TMI?
