What nation has the strongest military?

Define "strength."

If strength is how much money we spend/waste, then yes, we are under that over-smplistic, naive definition, the United States is the "strongest."

If strength s characterized by how much the military aids national security, the United States, in my opinion, is DEAD LAST (followed closely by Israel). Under this definition, I'd say Germany. They have a large military, yet they don't squander money or use it to facilitate imperialism.

With all due respect, you completely missed the point. By size, of course te country of 312 million beats Germany.

But if our military resources are being used to HARM our national security, of they are WEAKENKNG US, then numbers don't matter. The United States is bringing terrorism upon itself by killing innocent civilians, bombing countries, invading them without provocation. We are the terrorists and our military is a detriment to our national security.

Now if we uses them for DEFENSE, their intended purpose, not imperialism, it would be a whole other story…

Side: Not USA

Based on nominal figures such as spending, it would be be the United States, but it is overblown with its imperialist foreign policy. Billions of dollars are wasted on militarization rather than defense.

Side: USA

In terms of the net destructive energy that any one nation can mobilize against another, it is clearly the Russian Federation.

In terms of conventional strength (vehicles, manpower &c;.), very clearly the United Sates of America.

In terms of the competence and utility of the Special Forces divisions, the United Kingdom.

Those are the three principle military powers in the world in those terms. With a simple respect to the efficacy and technology of its armed forces, the coalition of the United States and the United Kingdom is the dominant military force in the world today.

It is our opinion that the People's Republic of China would very easily be defeated by any of the three powers above.

Im just curious what do you mean by net destructive energy? Is that not related to conventional strength?

...what do you mean by net destructive energy

I mean, sir, that they possess the most fission and fusion weapons.

Is that not related to conventional strength?

Conventional warfare usually excludes the use of nuclear arms, so I consider the two to be separate.

how can it be the states, the states haven't won a war since they were created unless you count joining the allies at the the last possible moment for ww2.

It's like Elton John's clothes. They might cost the most but are noway the best

The USA has the strongest military, we have everyone outnumbered in almost every way, our industrial sector is massive if only a small percentage of our GDP and our technology is top notch. Bohemian's numbers tell all.

, we have everyone outnumbered

China can draft 312,000,000 people (the population of the US) and still have a billion civilians left.

Please explain to me how they are going to arm all these soldiers in such a blazingly quick manner as to be ready for combat before the US gets there. When speaking in numbers I am speaking of the advantage we have in the size of our navy, air force, number of Ground based vehicles, etc

Side: USA

I will opine that the United States has the strongest military.
