What should we do about world hunger?

Many starve. Lots are obese. What do we do?

"More than 80 percent of the corn we grow and more than 95 percent of the oats are fed to livestock. The world’s cattle alone consume a quantity of food equal to the caloric needs of 8.7 billion people—more than the entire human population on Earth. According to the Worldwatch Institute, “Roughly 2 of every 5 tons of grain produced in the world is fed to livestock, poultry, or fish; decreasing consumption of these products, especially of beef, could free up massive quantities of grain and reduce pressure on land."

PETA is not a valid source of information. They are a heavily biased organization.

I also used EPA.gov but the source wouldn't highlight. And PETA is reliable as they do not issue fallible information.

Though they may have a purpose, that doesn't mean they'll lie to make their side more appealing. This is why PETA is as successful as they are.

Assuming we should do anything whatsoever about it, the best approach would be to reconfigure the underlying economic structures that have resulted in a largely dysfunctional (inter)national food infrastructure system. Realistically, however, that is rather unlikely; other alternatives are ultimately only temporary and inadequate quick fixes that fail to address the actual problem in a substantive way.

You can solve both, the problem of obesity and the problem of world hunger, by having the starving people eat the obese people.

Although world hunger is a major problem, where would we find enough resources to eradicate it? And if we were to find the resources, would the holder actually give away it without any economic advantages. Probably not, which means world hunger will inevitably reside in society and will not disappear.

The world will always be hungry. There will be a point, if some kind of super-tech doesnt emerge, that a balance between population and food production will meet. It may be tragic in life loss before the balance is achieved. Or maybe a balance will never be achieved, it may forever fluctuate between dieing of starvation to plenty of food. So I suggest you just live your life, eat your favorite food, and quit thinking about it.

We actually produce enough food to feed the world right now, but our means of distribution and preservation lead to a large amount of waste and an inability to get a lot of the food from production centers to areas of famine.

We, as citizens, should help the others, when they are in need, to ensure their welfare. We should donate to those organisations that help the needy..

Ask the obese to go on a 7-day hunger strike and call in the Mcdonald's guy to bring pizzas and burgers for the 'Starved';Another soln is there if you can ask the MPs to stop taking pensions so that the money can be invested in purchasing food for the 'have-nots'.

No country can do the job alone. It is up to the United Nations to get all of the countries involved with feeding the hungry.
