I fully agree also. I don't give a damn if someone wants to believe in heaven, hell, or fairy tales. Just keep it within your believers and don't try to influence everybody in the world that THEY must do the same! Doing that has killed FAR more than the automobile and Cancer put together! Believe, and enjoy your trip to Valhalla ... or wherever! (If I may use a favorite Trump word, ;-)). I was raised in the Anglican Church but as I got older and went to University I began to fathom what a complete load of total shite religion and the Bible was. Except for some of the sayings of Jesus was alright. But most the rest and especially the old testament is bollocks. So I stay away from religion and the churches and most wankers who are bloody godists. But I won't attack them unless they start trying to press their shite on me and me mates. If there ever detection be a Creator it would because Deist and not a Theist God liked that psycho Yahweh .....That's why input me post on this side. Anti theist but open to a reasonable idea of a creative intelligence. Yahweh was an idiot and me doubts he could create a hole in the mud. The reason he booted Lucifer from heaven was because Lucy was smarter. Like how a stupid boss is intimidated by a smarter employee, so the wanker takes a piss and cans him. Cheers, mates! Sorry, but in my quest to be tolerant and to do no harm I'm actually not as harsh as some of the rest of you. I'm willing to acknowledge I don't have all the answers, which means I can't throw any and every religion completely under the bus, but in that same train of thought I can't accept when they boldly claim that they in fact DO have all the answers. Which ultimately means EVERYONE else on this website is going to yell at me, from either side of the spectrum on this topic. Meh Side: Secularist

I first saw this debate a couple hours ago but it took some time to parse out my thoughts on the matter. As there are various definitions of the terms surrounding atheism, I will first lay out my definitions: - Atheism: lack of belief in God or gods Anti-theism: An opposition to theism; or the belief in a god Secularism: a principle that involves two basic propositions. The first is the strict separation of the state from religious institutions. The second is that people of different religions and beliefs are equal before the law. - That said, I frankly don't understand why these are opposing views. Why couldn't an anti-theist also be a secularist? The reason I chose this side is because though I am anti-religion, I wouldn't say I'm anti-theist. However, though I do not agree with religion and I do believe the world would be better without it, I do support an individual's right to practice their religion (this does not mean I encourage it, I simply support their right). I do however draw the line when these beliefs encroach on others, especially in matters of politics and science (which does place me as a secularist). Side: Secularist
