Excon, GOOD Question! All powers would devolve to the states. That means that nothing would really change in Texas. Blue states like New York, Illinois, California, Oregon, and Washington would have to decide exactly how much they want to stick with their expensive social programs if the rest of the country is not subsidizing them. If they kept the programs, the poor from other states would flood across their borders and drain their coffers. As they raised their taxes to pay for the programs, businesses and people with money would leave in droves for low tax places like Texas and South Carolina. Side: We would be much better off

gNc, I'm not saying Putin, but any invader would be glad to attack the separate states. That is a pertinent and interesting point. Who would get custody of the aircraft carriers? I think this issue is where the real problems would come up between the states. As much of a threat as China, Russia, DPRK, etc., might be, the fight over which states get which military hardware could cause much worse havoc and destruction. Side: We would be much better off
