How would we know who is smart? Or lazy? Or good at playing basketball?

We'd not know who to put to work in the fields :/

Congratulations on defeating the purpose of the 50 character minimum.

You do know African Americans weren't the only slaves right? Slaves existed nearly everywhere. Asia, ancient Athens, Africa, and maybe a few more places.

True. But no one works the fields like the African Americans.

Blacks weren't even the only slaves in early America- just the overwhelming majority. And that's just with a literal definition of slave.

If we expanded the definition of slavery to include de facto slavery due to indefinite extension of indentured servitude for 'acquired debts' during the original time of servitude, blacks would still represent a majority, but far from an overwhelming one.

If we further expanded the definition of 'de facto slavery' to include all cases of indentured servitude where the servant did not live to see his freedom, blacks would no longer even be a majority, just the largest minority.

We'd just find some other way to classify people into 'ours' or 'other.'

We could try hair color! Maybe we could assume that there was a link between blonde hair and intelligence? Nah, that'd be crazy...

Well, I think there would certainly be an end to 'skin colour-based' racism but perhaps not racism entirely. I am sure people would find other ways of distinguishing some humans from others, and this could lead to discrimination of some form.

Then how would you be able to tell if a Mexican is crossing the U.S-Mexican, border?

Probably not much different than it is now. People would likely still discriminate and persecute others based on cultural, religious, ideological, socioeconomic, educational, political and/or technological differences.

They just wouldn't be able to use skin color as a means to associate others with a particular culture.

The amount of sunburns would be more globally uniform.

There would not be any racism. There would be no more ghettoes.
