What's the WORST thing could happen if Barack's really Moslem?
You know, I hate politics. But since so many Americans have knots in their stomach just thinking Obama may be Moslem, I had to ask.

I think the NY Times has got it covered, literally, as I found out from borme's debate. Personally I think it’s great that he’s so close to realities regarding Moslems – that should give him the much needed leverage in his international relations with the Moslem world if he doesn’t screw up.

I don't think that his Muslim background will matter much. He's not the Martin Luther King of radical Muslims. I think that the worst thing that could happen if he were really Muslim is that he would likely not get elected due to the continued negative sentiment of many Americans towards Muslims. The best thing that could happen is that if he were elected President he could help to repair many of the foreign relations that have been strained with Islamic nations by the current administration. He could also help to educate many Americans on Islam to teach them that it is a religion of peace and not full of terrorists like many Americans believe. 492 days ago | Tagged As: Not get elected President
I think that he can go a lot further than that. For example, he may be able to get the Muslim community to realize that terrorism is not in their best interest and that they should actively oppose radical Islam. He may be able to communicate to the Muslim community not to support terrorism at any level and that doing nothing is the lowest level of support. Maybe he can convince the Muslim community to teach their children that terrorism is a dead end street? All I'm saying is that: 1. This is not ALL America's fault. 2. If Barack is really a Muslim then this country is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions. I mean, Old Testament, real wrath of God type stuff. Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! From the stories i've heard from friends who were just overseas, Islamofacists seem to hate American muslims a lot, and maybe the most. They think they're perverting their "sacred" religion with American materialism and this war on terror. Otherwise, at home, it will probably be impossible for him to get elected. I mean, it won't effect my vote, but lets face it... a lot of racist people out there. I guess the fascists will always hold their own. However, he may just be able to reach out to others who are still holding sway. Secondly, if I were a straight-thinking loyal-to-the-land Moslem living in America, I think I’d be just a little (or a lot) more comfortable if someone evidently sympathetic to Islam is in office. And if he really was Moslem and could assert the fact and still win America’s votes – wow, that would truly be groundbreaking, and shut up a lot of Osama.
