Whats your opinion on magic (no bunny in the hat kind)
If your like my, a imaginative person who loves fantasy then this is for you, but it seems that this has caused SOME people to say i'm in a cult so if this keeps going on, this debate will be taken away
What we think we know comes down to a combination of a) what our physical senses experience, b) what our minds think through, and c) whatever else we're told and whether we believe it or not. Odds are that despite the combination of a, b, and c, we still only know a fraction of what we need to know, and indeed some of what we think we know may be wrong. Anyway, magic is in that gray area where we think we already know one way or the other but then we don't really, do we? But I'd say this, even if it somehow does exist, it's highly unlikely it matches to our pop culture stories about it, like Harry Potter.
I personally do not think magic exists. I'm just trying to be fair in analyzing the possibility.
Regarding the quip by another that if you believe in evolution you believe in magic, the exact same quip can be made about believing in God and creationism.
You are an idiot and don't know the first thing about evolution. I'm done arguing with you or anyone else about it, however, since I figure that with all the proof and mountains of evidence we have for it that if you still don't believe you are simply too far gone in the head. Too spun, man.
So get the fuck out of here with your hocus pocus lamebrain idiocy. We have all tired of you long ago. Nobody. Wants. You. Here.
As far as magic, yes, what some call magic DOES exist. But its not really magic. I know for a fact that Demons and Witches exist, on a supernatural level. They are not magic however, as they consist of very tangible and real energy sources. Just like the force we call "God" does, and the force we call "Satan."
Things that we take for granted today would have been construed as magic not so very long ago! Maybe only a couple of generations ago! Thus it is the same that while today we think of the Supernatural as magical, we will one day in the not too distant future be able to detect and even quantify or measure these forces.
People once that radio was a sign of evil, and marked the end of Society. They said the same about Television, and then the internet. Today many who don't know say the same about Demons and Angels. Soon, like radio and TV and the internet, their origins and workings will be explained and understood and they will no longer be resigned to the world of the Supernatural.
YOU ARE IN A CULT, YOUR CULT IS HINDU AND OCCULT MIX, NOT CHRISTIAN AS YOU PRETEND, AND IF YOU WANT ME TO STOP SAYING IT THEN DON'T RESPOND TO MY POSTS. I'M STILL GOING TO SAY IT FROM TIME TO TIME WHEN I SEE YOU SAYING THINGS ABUSING THE NAME OF GOD AND CHRISTIAN AND "SAVED", BUT NOT AS MUCH AS IF YOU WON'T STOP RESPONDING TO MY POSTS. I DO NOT READ YOUR MATERIAL BECAUSE OF YOUR THREATS AND YOUR BOASTING OF HOW YOU HAVE PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED REAL CHRISTIANS LIKE MYSELF IN THE PAST.
Unity Church is a cult, a mix of Hindu beliefs and occult practices, one of the mind science cults pretending to be Christian. The God of Unity Church is not the God of the Bible any more than Allah is. Unity Church denies the deity of Christ the same as Islam and all cults. Unity Church denies the bodily resurrection from the dead accomplished by Jesus Christ after He died for the sins of man. You cannot be a Christian if you reject these points. Unity Church rejects these points dogmatically and is not Christian. Anybody who thinks they are saved in Unity Church is on their way to Hell, and fooling themselves if they think they have eternal life. You can't be saved if God is not the Savior, He can't be your Savior if you insist He did not pay your price when He died for you, He can't be your Savior if you insist He did not conquer death for you. You are in your sins and on your way to Hell if the blood of God Himself is not the covering for your sins.
So, people who believe in nature being able to change are believers in magic, and people who believe in a guy talking to a burning bush don't believe in magic. You are a crackpot.
if you believe life arose out of non-life and intelligence came from nothing, yes you believe in magic and you have no magician to explain the tricks. You'r a fool, Fartman.
You are an idiot and Godforsaken. I doubt God even likes you, but rather sees you as a false prophet and a hater who is injurious to the Cause of his True Followers like me and my Church. We raised $35,000 for our community homeless shelter last week.
what did you do besides sit on you flabby ass and rant here to an audience that loathes you and laughs at you.
It cracks me up that you think you insult me with your attacks on my church. I WELCOME your telling people about Mr. Fillmore's Hindu ties. I was speaking with Shaash the other day on how I enjoy and respect Hindu writings. And call us a cult if you like, who cares. Guess what? The early Christians were a cult, according to the Jews. Look up the definition of the word cult in the dictionary and you will see early Christians who followed Jesus met that definition.
its also pathetic how little you know about science and evolution. Is there any fucking thing you're knowledgeable in, old man? Cuz your theology is fucked up too.
Goodbye angry little man. I offered you an olive branch before on another debate about that video, but you rebuffed me. Good. It's on, bro. The worst days of your life are ahead. Mark it.

Firstly, As many other people have pointed out, what makes the belief in science, the belief in magic? Whereas believing in God, Jesus and all the 'miracles' he preformed in the bible doesn't?
Secondly, What evidence do you have that God is real? What people have told you? What you have read in the bible? Maybe even a feeling that you're being watched over. - however, I can presume that God has never appeared to you personally? And there is certainly more tangible evidence that evolution did occur. So ultimately, it just comes down to faith and belief, so to act all high and mighty, as though your belief is the only one that is justified, is just ridiculous - and through acting that way, you're just making yourself seem like a stubborn child, who can't handle the thought of being wrong.
Now I would just like the clarify, that this was not an argument against the existence of God, however an argument for the fact that people have a right to an opinion, whether that differs from your own or not. Also, you preach Christianity, but you come across, as one of those people that has a whole lot of 'religion' and not a whole lot of humanity. 'God' and 'religion' should be about positivism and love - not a way for you to judge other people.
depending on the culture's lore, Magic comes from spirits or Demons or Shen or gods. While yes, a power granted by God could be seen as magic, the more accurate description is a "miracle" the chief difference being that Magic is the will of man telling a god what to do, whereas a miracle is the will of god telling a man what to do.

Definitions seem to back up this caveat, as magic is considered "the power of apparently influencing the course of events by using mysterious or supernatural forces." and a miracle is "a surprising and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore considered to be the work of a divine agency." some would say they're effectively the same, I think there's a few degrees of separation that are important here.
