When to share rubrics with students
Rubrics are great tools to visualize and assess learning activities. In my experience I have found educators to hold two positions regarding rubrics. 1) Share the rubrics with the students upfront. 2) Wait until the end to share the rubrics. I think there are valid points for each side of this argument. Where do you fall? How would you support your position?

One of the purposes of a rubric is to give students the expectations right up front. It is a communication tool that shows the student exactly how they will be evaluated and gives them the opportunity to complete their work based on known expectations rather than hoping they are giving the instructor what is expected.
