Where's The Reverand Al Sharpton

After making more angry statements of his own outrage, Al has traveled to Charleston SC.  The good reverend has proven that you CAN NOT fool all the people all the time.

The good reverend has failed to generate any violent protests in Charleston and skulked back home.

Why has his race-batting tactic not worked this time.

The actual implication of your observation is that Al Sharpton is relatively impotent when it comes to inciting violent riots, the further implication of which is that the earlier riots originated just as organically without need for instigation as has the relatively more compassionate response from the church community in question. Another notable difference would be that the riots were about police brutality rather than non-state sanctioned terrorism.

Yeah there were no police involved this time. I believe that there is something different about the black community in Charleston. They seemed, and are in fact more settled more centered and take more pride in themselves than you see in some other communities. When I first lived in the south, I was immediately struck by the pride and dignity of the black people I met there as compared to other places in the country. I believe the Rev. Al Sharpton came to Charleston to exploit another tragedy, saw the mood of the people there and promptly disappeared. Good riddance.

Without ever having been to Charleston, I am still hesitant to accept sweeping generalizations about a singular "black community" in any instance where the population is at all significant. That said, the most vocal parties on this matter have been less inflammatory and I would not be surprised if Al Sharpton was welcomed somewhat less warmly than he might otherwise be.
