Which Cold War Power Did the Most Good?

This is completely subjective, based on each individual's values. The "good" and "harm" can be judged as both internal to each nation and its effect on surrounding regions and globe. Generally speaking, all of the effects, positive or negative, of both nations should be considered when rendering your decision and laying down your arguments.

Economic factors, casualties, moral failures, virtuous behavior,  environmental effects, political issues, social issues. Please judge each superpower fairly and accurately. It's been 20 years since the end of the Cold War, we should be able to have a calm, orderly, mature debate about the history and effects of the Cold War.

Well, both sides were about the same in many areas.

But, the USA wasn't committing genocide within its own country during the Cold War. All the dead Christians and Capitalists in the USSR is definitely a lost point for the Commies.
