I love 2 dollar bills. I was counting tips the other day and I noticed I had one. They're so rare.

I like the 2 dollar bill myself. probably because of its rarity and unchanged for many years. Well, it is only rare because the government decides not to print many each year which doesn't make it more valuable. Not sure why print more one dollars when printing more two would save money.

Yeah it doesn't make sense. They're more convenient. I'd rather have 5 two's than 10 one's.

They don't print as many 2's because the demand is low. A lot of people don't even know that they're still in circulation. But one good thing is that there are many people in the country who use lots and lots of 2's. Hopefully, people like that can raise awareness to the general public, which would then cause more people to want to use them as money, which would increase demand, which would increase printing quantity, which would increase supply! :D

The link below shows the 2's that have been printed since series 1976. All of these could still be in circulation and are all worth exactly $2 (unless a celebrity signed one or something. lol)

They're not that rare. All you have to do is go to the bank and ask for some. Most banks will have some in stock. And if the teller says "No, I don't have any," that means he doesn't feel like getting up and checking for more because he doesn't have any in his own drawer. xD

I used to get 2's every time I went to the bank. They're really fun to use because cashiers are ignorant (sometimes) and they have no idea where to put them. They make it seem like a $2 bill is foreign currency.

The largest denomination of currency ever printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) was the $100,000 Series 1934 Gold Certificate featuring the portrait of President Wilson. These notes were printed from December 18, 1934 through January 9, 1935 and were issued by the Treasurer of the United States to Federal Reserve Banks only against an equal amount of gold bullion held by the Treasury Department. The notes were used only for official transactions between Federal Reserve Banks and were not circulated among the general public. I want one of those ;)

This is just like in Cliffhanger where the terrorists steal 100 million dollars but all the money was in cash and 1000 dollar bills. Only Federal Reserve Banks exchange these large denominations when they are transferring large amounts of money.

I'll take the single dollar bill because I always want them in my wallet.
