I thought they were both the same thing concept wise, but I prefer a monarchy.

A monarchy is a dictarship. The leader is not democratically elected.

Of course there are problems with the Democrat Party. I only vote Democrat out of necessity. I have a problem with the following: progressive taxation (I think taxation should be restricted to a 50% sales tax), I have a problem with abortion, I have a problem with banning plastic bags and so on. I am not a member of the Democrat Party and I am still glad that I voted for Ron Paul. If a liberal prolifer ran for president, they would have my vote. The reason I refuse to call myself a centrist is because I disagree with conservatives on most of their issues.

As long as it works effectively I don't really care but it always seems like Monarchs work better than Dictatorships.

Like anything, it normally depends on the situation, but in typical terms, Monarchy trumps Dictatorships. In may cases, a Dictatorship form of government evolves into a totalitarian type, which strives to have complete control of the people-- Their thoughts, idea, religion. A Monarchy, which can evolve into a dictatorship, usually gives a fair amount of freedom (compared to the average dictatorship) to the people. Of course, there are exceptions for everything. For example, a Monarch, who may rule as a totalitarian ruler, may be thrown over by a dictator, and thus a reform. However, in usual situations, Monarchy is better than a Dictatorship.

Monarchies may or may not be dictatorships (as in, they could be constitutional).

Dictators tend to be real go-getters. Monarchs are more a roll of the dice.

Monarchs throughout history have been good and not so good, and dictators do not have a good reputation, however, the Greek philosophers believed that a benevolent dictator would be the best form of government.

Only difficulty is finding one with a "benevolent" bit....and able to sustain it...?

Both represent variations of a totalitarian form of government. The dictator has probably gained his position through a combination of strong/ruthless personal characteristics and a burning passion to achieve their political ideologies for the benefit of the country, and of course, to satisfy their megalomaniac tendencies. Generally speaking modern Monarchs have inherited their exalted position for no other reason than privilege of birth, and such neanderthals have long since had the fighting spirit and sense of national ambition bred out of them. So, whist the choice is pretty much a devil and deep blue sea proposition, the dictator would be the better of the two.

Monarchy is a better form of government. Here is why:

1. Monarchs receive the best of education growing up, and therefore know what is best for a country.

2. Monarchs care more about their country as to them, they are upholding a family tradition.

3. Dictators have been known in the past to be more ruthless than Monarchs.

Looking back on British history I would seriously question that the privilege of birth within the ruling class is the only entitlement to rule a country. The revolution was a good indication of how well the monarchy governed Russia.

Side: Dictatorship

Dictators command and lead ;they have the interests of people in their hearts;they can go to any lengths to enhance their welfare,standards;monarchs are just the opposite ,only fighting to increase their dominions.Hitler motivated Germany through his abilities,charisma,n took them to the summit.

While, of course, killing over 6 million people. Stalin is another example of this. "they have the interests of people in their hearts" is nonsense in cases like these. Stalin killed an estimated 34-50 million people. His own people. Interests of the people in their heart? Not so sure about this.

Who can forget he was one of the founding fathers of "UNITED NATIONS";Stalin very much succeeded Lenin in grooming Russia into a powerful state where people get equal rights under a communist regime;your facts are definitely wrong;Even Boko Haram or ISIS can't kill so many;
