XBox360 has well over double the install base of the PS3. This traditionally makes a system last much longer because new games continue to be released for it even after the next generation of hardware comes out.

Developers need to make money on their games, and the larger the install base, the larger the potential sales. This is going to cause a gradual pattern of software drifting to the XBox360 (we've already seen it with square) which will stifle sales on the PS3, causing a self-reinforcing loop, eventually leaving PS3 owners high and dry near the end of this console generation.

This pattern has repeated 4 times in history with the PS2, the PS1, the SNES and NES systems. All destroying their competitors and being the only systems to still recieve software late in the system generation cycle.

(We can ignore the wii in this generation because it's not a direct competitor with the 360 or PS3; It can't play the same titles due to savere power limitations. It's found it's own Niche if you will. The Wii may likely outlast the 360 and ps3, but that remains to be seen)

Xbox360 for the time being, although the graphics are comparable to PS3. my main reasons for liking xbox 360, mundane as it may sound.... you are able to play pirated games to work on your cracked console for $2 each. This support is not provided in PS3

I don't know what things are like in the States, but over here in the UK the Xbox has more exclusives than the PS3. It's all about the games at the end of the day!

Everyone is basically saying that graphics are the main reason they will buy a system/console. No one looks at the operating system or Life Span. The Xbox 360 has a 3.2 GHz PowerPC Xenon CPU, The PS3 has a 3.2 GHz Cell Broadband Engine. Looking at that, they are both basically the same, however, The 360 has better games and more multiplayer compatibility.

When it comes down to it its all about the games and Xbox defiantly has more better games. Xbox has Halo, Gears, Fable 2, and other great games. Now PS3 does support Blue Ray DVDs which is great but it can't beat the Netflix on 360. Then there's the multiplayer experience. There's no way that anyone can compete with the Xbox Live players.

some people think ps3 is better because you can play blu ray on it but it acually isn't better than a regular cd. you might as well get a blu ray dvd player. any way, it is called a game console. you paly games on it. that is what it is meant for. case closed. xbox 360 is better in my opinion.

Look lets look at it like this the ps3 and the 360 are game systems so what should we look at the games? what dose the PS3 have about 4 good games as for for the 360 all we have is fucking good games halo3, GOW2, viva pinata, fable 2, the exclusive content for GTA4, Guilty Gear 2: Overture, Fuzion Frenzy 2, banjo kazooie nuts and bolts, halo3: ODST, Halo wars, Crackdown, 1 vs 100. Heck the list i just mentioned is more then all the exclusives the PS3 has and i didnt even count the arcade titels that we have. Sure the RROD is a problem but hey microsoft fixed the new consoles and they fix the old ones for free if we look at what the PS3 has its got MGS4, LBP, Infamous, and probably one or two more games i dont remember. and other then that its got blu- ray which dosnt look that much better then HD anyway. now come on pepole yes we have to pay for xbox live but most of that $ is going to updating it and making it better, heck we are geting our $ worth by far. now come on folks really now. yes the PS3 has free online but hey you are geting your $ worth of that online 2 its fucking shit in a bag. you never go around and hear pepole talking about how much they owned online in MGS4 you hear them talking about COD and Halo. i mean look at the 360 its cheaper then the Wii that was about all nintendo had going for them a cheap fun console but now the xbox is cheaper and its better. If you even look at the sales of the PS2 last month they beat the PS3, and they are still making games for them. now you know your console false when more then a year l8tr your old console is still doing better and geting new games. i cant even remember that last time they released a new Xbox game. exclusives : Except perhaps GoW2 and Halo3, most of the top-rated xbox games are available for the ps3 as well. But not vice versa. Consider PS3 exclusives like killzone2, mgs4 and upcoming exclusives like God of War 3.

hardware : Free wireless adapter on the PS3, Free PSN account, modular hard drives (you can pick up a cheap 5400 rpm SATA drive to plug in and upgrade your PS3) unlike with the xbox where you're locked into buying from MSFT or its vendors. Any HDMI cable will let you plug this into a 1080p screen, unlike with the xbox where you have to buy a custom xbox hdmi cable.

Simply because Soni usually has good quality products whereas Microsoft has products that spam up and shut down so you are forced to buy new ones or new parts for old ones.

My PS3's:

i have 2 ps3's 1 60GB and one 160GB and they have both worked with our freezing or messing up. they have not scratch any discs and it have not overheated once. i was able to connect to any network wirelessely and i didn't have to move a big stupid power supply around. the ps3's are really quiet.

so go for ps3 not xbox

I like the PlayStation 3's controls better. I also love Playstation Home, its a great communication tool and a good time-killer.

ive owned both a ps3 ad a 360. my ps3 broke down at the beginnig of the summer, then instead of replacing one right now i went out an bought a 360 i have had my 360 for less then two monhts and it broke twice already. but my ps3 lasted almost 2 years. the ps3 has more offline features, better gaming experiences and on top of those reason u can have more players playing the ps3 offline then any other gaming system. sony is alway working on making the ps3 better by making different models but microsofht has only made 4 different versions of the 360 onlike sony which made 5 different versions of the ps3.

so i would say if u were to buy a seven generation system buy the ps3

OK this is really straight forward. I own all 3 consoles (PS3, 360, Wii)PS3 is far superior. First off, the controller is rated the best and easiest to use. Secondly, it comes fully equipped. For example, it is wireless Internet ready, it has a rechargeable battery in the controllers and it is also a blue-ray player. Finally, everyone keeps talking about the fact that 360 has more games but how many of them are quality games? PS3 games constantly get better reviews.

PS3 is better. Deal with it.

OK just end the argument, its all about what you like to play. Honestly i am a hard core xbox fan and love gears of War. But i see the potential in getting a ps3. THE PS3 has some great game on it and i cant wait to see GOD of war. All my friend at work have the ps3 some come on and just play what you like...

The only thing I can think of about xbox that I really like is halo, the actual xbox has lots of problems that cause them to stop working!!

However, xbox's controllers are WAY better than ps3
