Which is more likely to exist?

God

God, clearly.

There are people who openly express their complete belief in God, in high governmental positions.

Seriously, how far in politics could someone get if they based the reason for their legislative opinions on them believing extraterrestrials want them to do something?

Clearly, the existence of God is much more likely.

The question is unclear. Until such a time as 'life on other planets' is clarified/explained in detail, I'm just going to default to the side I know will piss the most people off. G'day.

Side: God

One can agree that both are still possibilities. But the possibility of a God is very low. Mostly because there is no evidence for it. Life on other planets seems much more possible because we already understand what it takes to create life from non living matter and we know what elements can exist that would support life. The universal is quite massive so I am sure there is probably another planet with life on it in the distance.

Although I believe the chances of life on another planet is good I do not see where we understand what it takes to create life from non living matter. Nobody, has successfully created anything more then amino acids in the lab as far as we are told.

That is like saying we are God... In which case the existence of both is at par.

I can see why you would say so. We have different models for how life can start. The things we need to know is exactly what state the earth was in when it did. It would be an extremely slow process for it to start but we need to know what state the earth was in at that time. That way we can select the model that fits and explain how life started.

The God in the Christian faith is an external God. He is not an internal God. He claims to be external. This way we know he didnt imply that we are God. Now if you are talking about the Ancient Astronaut Theory or something then thats different.

who is god? god arises due to our fear. we create the god(just a symbol),so actually god doesn't exists.we can't see or hear him.but we can see , hear and touch our planet .so which is real-definitely not god!

I find it hard to believe that in such a gigantic universe, this THIS is the only place life exists.

By life, I don't mean any alien type thing. It could be as much as a plant or a bug of some kind.

I think it is only a question of when we will find life on other planets.
