Who are victimized more by thieves? Rich people or Poor people

There are some people who believe that thieves always rob rich people, but there are others who say that people who live in the ghetto areas are targeted as well, and they are poor. So who is victimized more? Rich people or poor people?

There's nothing worth stealing from poor people .

I agree that the poor don't have much so there isn't really anything that a thief could actually steal. If they did steal from the poor they'd have steal almost everyday to be able to have enough money for whatever it is they want.

There are plenty of people from ghettos who will rob, burgle, or even murder for as little as a few dollars. And they often choose to prey on the local community - on people who are almost as poor as them.

It's sad but it's true.

I know that the ghetto has a lot of thieves, however most of them are children, right? I want to know about adult thieves, do they steal from the rich or the poor, I say they steal from the rich more then the poor.

Since the poor have little to offer, the thief would have to steal from more then one house or person. Therefor they'd probably have to steal almost everyday. Most thieves wouldn't do that they'd steal maybe at the most twice a week. Therefor I say they would target the somewhat rich people. People who have good houses without that much security, I think, are targeted the most.

Rich people as victims lose very little. Poor people as victims lose more. The houses of the poor are easy to be lifted.

The house of our local domestic helper who makes around 10k that is Maybe 300$ per month was robbed. That is Brutal.

I'm not asking who loses more, though I agree that a victimized poor person would lose more then a victimized rich person. I want to know if thieves steal more from the rich or the poor?

Well... That is exactly what I was trying to explain. The thieves choose whatever maybe an easy option. But, since the poor have more to lose, it is them who are victimized worse.

You are deluded if you think people with very little money do more stealing and victimizing than people who have lots of it.

The question is asking if thieves visit rich people more or the poor more? Not if the rich steal more or if the poor steal more.

There are two perspectives that you can go with this question. One perspective is that the rich people are more targeted by theives because they have more valuable things than what poor people have.

However, the other perspect is what 92ninda (if i spelled the name correctly) said that the level of degree of vicitmized is higher for poor people than rich people.

It more likely that a poor person will be robbed than a rich one. The rich person can afford alarm systems, security guards, etc., the poor person has little defense.

Poor people are easier to steal from. It is something of a vicious cycle, poverty encouraging thievery, thievery easy to pull off on the poor, stealing from the poor leading to poverty.

Only because someone was talking about it above, it's not the dude climbing through the window at night who is the thief, well he is, but the real thieves are the wall street barons draining retirement funds legally, hedge funds that only pay 17% tax while median income pays 22% or so, the white collar fucks who use loopholes to rip off the average family, not pay taxes, do insider trading, etc. They're the thieves. I'd totally track those douches down and rob them blind if I was impoverished. I'd be like a ghetto Robin Hood.

Poor people are easier to steal from. Thieves are attracted to a sure thing. The payout may be smaller, but the drawbacks are fewer. Not to mention, a poor person would suffer more from being victimized. Because they have less, every little thing is more.

Side: Poor People

Because the poor don't have as many material possessions as the rich. Also, the poor can't afford household insurance for what is stolen.
