The Harry Potter and his friends are tools of Dumbledore. Voldermort is the best character because he puts the mystery and danger into the story. Also, Professor Snape because throughout the whole series, we never knew what side he was on until the end.
My favorite character is absolutely Hermione. She is quietly brave, unabashedly geeky, and pals around with two boys instead of dealing with the prissy girls in Gryffindor. I saw so much of her in myself that I wrote one of my short essays for my Stanford application about our similarities (the questions was which literary character do you most identify with). Unfortunately, this was pre-Harry Potter mania and I gather my rejection from that fine institution may have been in part to comparing myself to a character in what was then perceived as merely a "children's book."
Hermione is the biggest tool of them all particularly to Harry because she will almost do anything for him even if it is the stupidest thing imaginable.
i dont agree with anybody, my favorite character would have to be minerva mcgonagall. Throughout the whole book she was always harrys defender, from snape and malfoy and really anything. i always saw here as the mother harry never had. in the first book when she got harry a broom for quiditch really convinced me of that. In the last book when minerva was confused when harry snuck into ravenclaw tower, and harry said he felt emotion for minerva, made me feel great. Now the only time minerva used magic was to completely protect harry. i love how she dueled snape for harry that was great, better than dumbledore and voldemorts because minerva was fighting for love. then when she wouldnt leave harrys side til he was to sasfety in the castle was great. minerva and harry loved each other in a mother son kind of way. she protected him throughout his life in hogwarts, making her my favorite character.
I've never heard of anyone being more wrong than you are right now. Ron Weasley? A) he's the dumbest member of the Weasley family, and 2) no one likes redheads. Hermione's great and all, but for best character, no one beats Harry. Guess what, he's even in the title. Case closed.
James, your argument makes little sense. Ron Weasley represents the heart of the stories and exists as the foil for Harry. He is certainly not the "dumbest" member of the Weasley family, because regardless of Percy's intellect, he was clearly the most myopic and certainly behaved that "dumbest."
I was actually just joking around a bit, since this is so subjective ... I do think Ron didn't really hold up in intelligence with Harry or Hermione, but he made up for it with loyalty and cleverness. My absolute favorites might be the twins, given how fun they were to read (and even more fun to watch in the movies.)
That's not what you said when you were playing with your Ginny and Harry dolls ... "Oh Harry, do you really like my hair?" "Yes, Ginny my darling, it's like I'm getting a sunset in the face every time we snog." The kissy-noises after that are kinda rough, Nikki.
Just because I've never "given my flower" to someone doesn't mean I don't know disturbing when I hear it. Or see it, for that matter ... the line of doll clothes leading down the hall gave me nightmares.
I like Draco Malfoy the most because he's a character through-out the whole story who is known only for his cruel side, but later on in the books we see the other side of him, emotional and confused on which side he's really on.
I don't know who that is but Draco and Malfoy put together will always be awesome. And this is 1252 days old and you are probably dead and I am probably talking to a ghost account.
As for me, my beloved one are actually 2, I can't decided between them, James Potter =D and Sirius Black <3 Some of my friends say that I should stop denying it and admit that I actually like James better, but I honestly don't believe so.
Hermione simply because I can relate to her. She doesn't care about her looks and is brighter than everyone around her yet she is still a very nice person.
i think this is a really hard choice..but i would have to pick Harry as he is who's point of view the story is told from and i feel we go through the most with Harry
i like so many!!! dumbledore dobby snape hermiony luna lovegood! nevlle harry ron james series! belatrix lestrounge! malfoy peeves! voldamort fred george ( forge gred) ginny ms weasly mr weasly hagrid! buckbeak bill fluer dean shamas lavendar cho chang parvarti patil proffeser trolawny
definitely Ron because he reminds me well of me i mean the temper tantrums and the ginger hair and the stupid jokes he makes he's altogether a great character and friend
Is that even a question? Of course its Fred. No, George. Wait, Fred. Ok, so its Fred and George both. I know only one character is asked for in this question but they are both twins with the same minds so you can count them both as one character :) They both crack you up throughout the whole Harry Potter series, and are... well, hilarious! I really believe that if these characters hadn't had existed, about half of Harry Potter's fan following wouldn't have existed too =D
some of my teachers hate me too.. it's hard to read books when you have lots of homework and projects to do ... any way did you read harry potter and the deathly hallows??
HERMIONE IS AWESOME! She never ever ever betrayed Harry! Unlike ron.... I still like all of the charecters though... Oh and btw EVERY ONE SAY I LOOK A LOT LIKE HER! :)
ok before I write this pls go check out my debates now lets argue so I THINK LUNA IS THE BEST she's in Ravenclaw and she is so calm and smart she is also very good with animals and magical creatures and did you see my username so yeah bye
I agree, Harry is probably gay. The guy characters that i think are the coolest are Severus Snape or Remus Lupin and the girl characters that i think are the coolest are Nymphadora Tonks and Luna Lovegood. I like Severus because he was bullied when he was young, just like how i am bullied now. I like Remus because my favorite creatures are werewolves. I like Tonks because shes a tomboy and she marries Remus and i don't know why i like Luna, maybe because shes a social outcast or because with her around Harry had someone the emphasize with.
