Who is your rival on this site?
Just curious. Who is the person that you're constantly disagreeing with, the person that you dispute everything with. The person who just seems the polar opposite of all that you are. This is in no way a mockery debate, just who you find yourself at constant rivalry with.

I used to have quite a problem with SlashinatorX, who was an ignorant bonehead who had no respect for the opinions of others. Luckily, he's moved on. I suppose my current rival would be hellno2012. Even though he seems like a nice, reasonable guy, our political views are so vastly different that we end up bickering more than chatting. True, our political views are pretty different but I think we've always got along? Not all my views are hard line conservative... I'm not 100% pro-life, I make a few exceptions for abortion. I'm apathetic, for the most part, about gay rights... if the people of a state vote to approve gay marriage, that's fine by me. I'm okay with legalizing marijuana and prostitution and remember, I'm atheist, which causes me some grief amongst some fellow cons. 3

I'm glad to be in a list among great debaters. I find that our agreements come from us being the more rational types. We aren't about petty ideology (well, PF is a die-hard libertarian, but all from logic and reasoning i'm sure). We just want to discuss the many topics at hand, bringing fourth various views. Will we ever come to conclusions? Once or twice. But at least we can come to understand each other, and see the need for different view points. 1

iamdavidh and Apollo are the two who immediately come to mind. I can get along fairly well with plenty of those with whom I only occasionally disagree (and even those with whom I never agree but they maintain a good attitude throughout), but the two aforesaid users and myself very rarely find anything on which to agree. iamdavidh if I had to pick just one, for he's an utter fool in debating; he admits to being drunk most of the time, so it may just be the alcohol whom I dislike. iamdavidh and Apollo are the two who immediately come to mind Wha...Liber...me?...I don't know what to say. I'm honored. - Oscar Wilde once wrote, "I choose my friends for their good looks, my acquaintances for their good characters, and my enemies for their good intellects." So I am truly honored that you think so highly of me. but the two aforesaid users and myself very rarely find anything on which to agree I'm sorry that you are wrong so often... 1

I was never much for rivalry. To declare someone a rival seems too committing. I don't like putting an official stance on something. but I do find myself constantly coming to a clash with casper and iamdavid. I respect Casper's debate style. He's reasonable and actually makes me think about what I'm saying. I can honestly say that if Casper challenges me on something, our debate will be reasonable and knowledgeable and may even make me have to take a hard look at what I believe in. Have I learned from him? Can't recall. But a good debate will always leave me with more knowledge and better understanding of the topic, if not for just me looking up shit that will support my argument. Can't say the same for david. I just feel like I'm arguing with a wall. But I guess I provoke him just to get the same satisfaction that I do from bothering the average liberal for their views. They're gonna think they're right no matter what I say, and I can entertain myself with that pleasant bit of information. |
