Who said "Humans are born into sin" and why?

I forget who said that all humans are born sinners but I was just thinking about it and wanted to know what you thought of it.

Hey, if you don't care find another debate. Thats very rude.

Anyways, I don't know who said that but I don't think it's true. I believe that people are not accountable for their actions until the age of eight. In psychology I learned that the age of psychological moral awareness is around the age of eight. That is when children start to know right from wrong.

1. There's no such thing as "sin," it's something made up in order to control the actions of people. Some of the reasons are good, mostly from my estimate, they're bad.

2. The reason is to control people, as said in reason one...

But if you're talking about a hypothetical world, where people are born into something that they have to make up for later by being beholden to some power, or putting change in the basket they pass around, or feeling really guilty and saying prayers to an invisible man in the sky, or having water poored on their head -

In that case, human's were born into sin because we have desires.

Science would call this instinct, but -- procreate with anyone you're attracted to (married or not,) want stuff, want what you see others have, etc. Religion calls it original sin, (or a deviation from original sin, point is, it's natural - can't be helped.)

The mind automatically follows scenerios to their intended result. ie, if you want your neighbor's wife, you'll not only desire her, but you'll play out scenarios in your head that result in your goal, sometimes in a flash, other times over time, other times, humans follow through.

Murder, greed, gluttony... all seven of them.

We can't help thinking about it. That's how the mind works.

Religion argues this is your fault though, even if you don't follow through. (thus original sin)

People like myself, and other more human sympethetic people,

realize that, it's not what you think, but what you do,

that makes you a good person, or a sinful person.

And ultimately the only reward is here on Earth, and what we make of it.

Or maybe we're all going to hell, who knows?

But some would argue, that if one were to be damned for something they cannot help,

perhaps the one doing the damning carries the greater guilt ultimately.

But, religion has big, scary characters. And eternity and death, they are big scary things.

And if a little kneeling now, will save one an eternity of pain,

who would I or you be to tell god he's wrong?

I don't remember who said it, but I believe that we are. No one is perfect therefore we are sinful. As a newborn you are born into a world full of imperfections, criminal activity, and though we have help along the way not everything we do is correct. So, even though it is not planned we are born very much into sin.

As Catholics, we are born with Original Sin. We're not born, necessarily, as sinners. I think babies are innocent.

Humans are not born into sin they grow into sin and chose whether or not they are actually going to do the right thing or the wrong thing. If a person was born into a bad family they do not have to be bad and they were not born bad

I was born into this world. Therefore, ...if... I was born into sin, then this world is sin. And it isn't until age 8 that people realize that there is something wrong with this world. And that the only thing that can make it right is not of this world. Otherwise, we would have done it by now. We would have made it right by now. But we haven't. And that's not right. That's just wrong. That's not just. There's no justice.

this is definitely not the catholic view... catholics believe that humans are born WITH original sin because it's a part of our human nature that's passed on through propagation. we believe that baptism gets rid of original sin and enters us into a new humanity

the view that holds the position that humans are born into sin is saying in other words that we are born into a sinful community which is clearly wrong. it's wrong because Mary and Jesus were concieved and born without original sin, or any other sin for that matter. how could they be born without sin if they were born into a sinful community? they must have been born on another planet, huh

that makes no sense to me, that's why i don't believ it...

three answers are right:

catholics,no, and false statement.

humans are not born into sins.

the "original sin" was literally invented by christianity, because if you are born with sin, you are destinied to sufferr for eternity in hell, or you can join the, pay the priest some handy cash, say a few words in confeesion, and bam bam bam, your set.

this was used to propaganda to make people join, using their own fear, and hope as a weapon against themself.

It's how Catholics interpret the bible. That's why they baptize new born infants. Supposedly the baby is born into sin and must be washed away from that sin.

Different in all other Christian belief where one is baptized. They're baptized when joining a church or being confirmed in something, so they enter that new faith with a clean slate.
