Hulk has his unbeatable strength if he had the opportunity he could jump clear into space, snatch Thor out of the sky, and rip him in half. he did it to Wolverine.
A correction, Thor isn't a god, although people see him, and his kind as one. This is mentioned in the movie 'Thor', and in the 'Avengers' for the people who have seen it.
Hulk would win because he is a giant green monster with giant muscles and he can jump really high and far. He is way bigger than Thor, and the only thing Thor could do against him is hit him with lightning. But even that wouldn't work because the hulk can't be killed
This is a god, he has God help, he could bring a horde of help to find a way to lock down the Hulk, but his biggest factor would be Mjölnir, his hammer.
The hammer has an enchantment that prevents anyone from lifting it unless they are worthy enough, so basically he could drop the hammer on the Hulk and it'd be fight over until hulk either calms the hell down, dies, or even rarer of a case, becomes worthy enough.
Thor is a god and the hulk is a human having a temper tantrum. I think hulks blind rage could be delt with by a god who is calm, intelligent and equally as strong.
With that said, you must see that this fight could go either way. They are equally as strong, yet as Hulk get's angrier he get's stronger. Thor stays as strong as he is, unless forced into berserker rage mode, but if he's truly as level headed as you say, I think the only thing that would force him into that mode would be seeing Jane Foster getting hurt or die. Which Hulk would never do.
Thor has other abilities that add to the defeat of hulk. The green machine is generally a one liner "Hulk smash"... Thor has the power to summon lightning storms
"Wielding Mjolnir, Thor can summon and control the powers of the storm, causing rain, wind, thunder and lightning. Thor can channel the storm’s fury into devastating energy blasts that can destroy even secondary Adamantium. Mjolnir can also generate energy blasts called “Anti-Force.” Due to its uru metal composite, Mjolnir can absorb other energies into itself, which Thor can then release."
and "Thor often uses Mjolnir defensively to deflect attacks by spinning it around his body at terrific speeds. By spinning Mjolnir in a circle, Thor can open interdimensional portals, allowing him to travel to other dimensions
Not going to kill him. Only making him stronger, he then rips Thor in half.
The other stuff was just fun facts about the guy, they don't really add to how this fight is purely in Thor's favor.
I believe that if the circumstance was right, that thor would have the upperhand, if he performed the right series of moves, and Hulk fell into the right places. Just as I believe with it being the exact same case with the roles reversed.
Well if he was frozen in ice he would die. Captain America is different from the hulk because "The claim is that some unknown (and conveniently unexplained) component of the super-soldier serum acted to preserve his body when he was frozen, turning it into a state of suspended animation or cryogenic freezing. His cells basically don't react like normal human cells anymore, and instead can be frozen and unfrozen without suffering damage. So when frozen, he was perfectly preserved and able to be revived." http://www.quora.com/Captain-America-The-First-Avenger-2011-movie/How-did-Captain-America-survive-being-frozen-for-70-years-in-ice
Hulk would die because he would need to breath.
Besides, from what im learning about the hulk is that he can mutate at any time with whatever he needs to survive, which to me is completely ridiculous. And I may have to switch my argument. thus making him a walking contradiction of an immortal mortal.

And I may have to switch my argument. thus in my opinion becoming on of the worst and most ridiculous super heroes ever. Hell, even superman has a weakness.

Sounds alot like hulk's cells that after any stress is applied they grow stronger.
Also I googled that aging thing, Hulk ages very slowly, but will never die of organ failure because he heals. So like as we age our bodies start to become weaker and weaker until they eventually fail, Hulk doesn't do that.
I think I'm switching my argument from the idea that it's even to Hulk as well because I saw some videos of hulk doing the impossible. He lifted Mjolnir. It as the most frustrating thing to see because I hate O.P. heroes, much like how I dis like Super Man.
I left a link in one comment, that said they are the same in terms of power.
I'm not trying to convince you Hulk is stronger because I don't believe that to be the case. I'm trying to convince you that it would be a battle to behold, that would shake mountains, drain oceans, raise volcanoes, and most importantly could go either way.
In planet hulk, Hulk fought a creature with the power of Thor...he utterly smashed that creature. In many comics the two clashed, and it's never always Thor, and it's never always Hulk. Sometimes Hulk has it, other times Thor has it.
Seems one sided, but I gave a reason that Thor also could have won.
That is clearly not Thor. He doesn't even look remotely like him, and the fighting style is off. Thor is a dual nature god, so he's pretty powerful when he's not goofing off :)
Thor is not a god. Have you seen the movie "Thor"? They right away say "Conjure a little lighting and there humans praise us as gods" Really, they're not gods, they just live on a different planet.
Thor has many different 'deffinitions'. In mythogy he's a god... In 'stargate', he's a weird alian 'apparently', but I'm quite sure in this debate it's Marvel vs Marvel.
-_- The comic strip. Its the company that created things like Hulk, Ironman, Thor, Captain amarica, ect. DC is the only other large comic strip I know of, having people like Super man, batman, ect. The big difference of the two is in Marvel, the heros don't hide their identities, in DC they typically do. There are exceptions though.
