Now a days America would destroy such a nation. Mostly drones would do our missile work. We can use satellite imagery to determine our position so I think that America would easily blow them away.

We have better weapons. We are on the cutting edge of military hard ware. North Korea is still using the same shit it had during the Korean War. If we invaded them we would utterly crush them and we would bring South Korea with us so double whammy bitch asses. If they invaded us well I believe Admiral Ishikaro Yomimoto had a quote about us "you cannot invalid mainland America. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass"

China and Russia don't like North Korea, some may say China is NK's closest ally then if that is the case China is doing a very bad job. America will win... China wont help the little troublesome neighbour of theirs and Russia's only support to NK would be to call America an aggressive militaristic nation (well it is). Besides America has Britain as an ally and we have really good tanks... uses the best type of armour (same or similar to abrahms), the fastest helicopter in the world, the Lynx. Though I am not sure Britain will get involved but if NATO does they will. Oh and Germany has the best tanks Leopard 2, it makes the Abrahms look crap, sending a few of those against NK will be fun.

back to reality then...

The United states has without a doubt the most powerful military on earth! A large, well trained, well equipped army. A large, well equipped, advanced air-force. And a strong, advanced, nuclear capable navy. and as mentioned advanced, powerful allies.

North Korea has an army made up of die-hards, old ineffective tanks, little naval or air power, pathetic nuclear weapons and almost no hope of anyone coming to help them

SO... America with their allies will win

America has more allies so in a stand up fight it would be "America" (I used the inverted commas as eveyone knows they wouldn't be doing it alone). Unless North Korea does have the Nukes it is rumored to have if they do and fire first America will fire back and we're all fucked no one wins.

Without the belief that the new Kim is a God, the people will not have the strong desire to follow him, and the power struggle would most likely go to America.

America would win. Using a comparison between Vietnam and North Korea does not work. North Korea would have the same issue the Iraq had. That being they want to be seen a recognized world power so there military is trained to fight a war in the conventional fashion. Vietnam beat the French and the Americans because they controlled what type of battle would be fought. America and France fought conventionally with an opponent who would not. This is why America could win the battles but could not win the war.

North Korea's major ally is China who does not want war. The Chinese want to protect and grow their economy and backing North Korea will severely damage their economy. With no real tangible benefit for China you see their support wither on the vine.

The clear winner South Korea or I should say a newly reunified Korea under South Korean leadership. The Korean peninsula is poor in resources as any South Korean citizen will tell you their natural resource is their people. Without natural resources to exploit, very few will oppose a unified Korea.

Jeez! That isn't even a competition! America all the way! We have superior fire power, technology, weapons, equipment, and better trained soldiers. They have numbers, and a really good rifle! That's pretty much it. The only reason we didn't win in the Korean War is because China got involved and used their superior numbers to push us back. If we went to war again with N. Korea, I don't think China will actually send troops. They may let a few tanks or rifles go over the border, but not men.

There is nothing more annoying than who would win war debates. This is not even close, America has superior everything.
