I feel if everyone was properly informed that suicide always leads to death fewer people would engage in this activity. Only a wee joke. The reasons for the upward trend in suicide is, in my opinion, in direct proportion to the increase in drug abuse and the ensuing depression this habit causes, as well as a break down of moral values and the growing disease of a Godless society. The weak minded try to live in a world of permanent europhia and when they realise that that goal is unobtainable and when they're forced to face life's harsh realities they decide to jump off the Tallahassee Bridge, metaphorically speaking. Let them jump, such people are a hindrance to society. According to the CDC suicides are up by 30% since 1999. I would point to two different circumstances. One is the protracted state of war beginning after 9/11. Veterans coming home could not count on the VA which was as likely to see them dead as Al Queda. Additionally our mental health infrastructure was all but eliminated with deinstitutionalization. It is estimated that somewhere around 22 veterans per day commit suicide. The other circumstance better explains the rise of suicide among youth. Social media is a relatively new technology, but as far as the young are concerned, it has been here forever. Highly impressionable young people already susceptible to peer pressure now feel the weight of the world as they come to believe that all eyes truly are on them. Now the effectiveness of bullying is compounded as kids take the constantly critical world of peer pressure and denigration with them everywhere from home, to class, to sports, back to home, and with them to bed as their iPhone is never out of reach. If people want to do something to help protect our kids, ban cell phones in school. 1

A member of the media condemned CNN's Anthony Bourdain for committing suicide on Friday, saying that there was a special place in hell for him while calling him obscenities. David Leavitt — who describes himself as a freelance writer with bylines at CBS, AXS, Yahoo, and Examiner — began his attack by writing: "If you’re religious, then you believe there’s a special place in hell or purgatory for people like Anthony Bourdain who take their own lives." Was Anthony Bourdain a kid ??????????????????????????????????????? 1

It's obvious! Conservatives and Christians have been telling you this would happen for decades, but you will say yada yada and totally ignore the obvious. What makes a person commit suicide? He feels unloved and lacking the hope that things can get better. As we separated God from our public, the family unit has been falling apart. Record numbers of broken homes, children living without a mother or father, feeling abandoned and unloved. Christianity is all about hope and a better life to come. When people no longer have hope, they simply give up. Now go on with your life and ignore the truth all around you. Look at your neighbors. How many intact families are you seeing where the mother and father of the kids are together raising their children. Without God, our culture has degraded to a promiscuous self love me me generation of selfish people who put themselves over the children they brought into this world. After their one night hook up, pregnancy, no marriage, no commitment, children feeling like a basketball being passed back and forth at the whims of the parents. I won't even start with this extreme LGBTQRSVUWXYZ lunacy whereby children are being taught that they should question who and what they are, experimenting with the sexual orientation of the month, getting no fulfillment, feeling lost, having no clue who they are and wondering what life is all about. This Progressive anti God humanistic movement has truly screwed up our next generations of kids. WAKE UP! 0

Or we prefer not being turned into Britain, where speech is censored, a butter knife is illegal, and teeth look like orcs'. The magical thing about living in America is that if you move away from the liberal areas, gun violence isn't any more a problem than in Scandinavia, Norway, Sweden, Ireland, etc. 0
