Why do English speaking people refer to Jesus Christ as "Yeshua" or "Christus"?

His name in English is Jesus Christ, yet many Christians and non-Christians alike insist on using the pronunciations of the languages used in the Roman Empire at the time of Christ.

There is only one reason for doing this...to pretend to have an air of superiority over others; a pompous style of pseudo-intellectualism which is presumed by the practitioner to make them superior to others who do not care to translate English into other languages to use in everyday speech.

Any time anybody uses "Yeshua" or "Christus" when they are speaking English, it's obvious they have a problem feeling a need to make themselves superior to others.....so they succeed in being arrogant pompous donkey/mule hybrids.

You perceive it so painfully, perhaps there are reasons for that. I try to find a reliable translation resource for myself so as not to have such problems. Who can advise?

I am sure that the quality of translation should always be given due attention and not save on it. As I see from the article, the misunderstanding of one word led to disagreements, but this could have been avoided if you used the help of a reliable resource. For my translations, I always use Translate.com, which allows me to translate business documents into over 60 languages. I use a wide range of document types, including business plans, marketing materials, annual reports and more, so quality collaboration is very important to me. If the next time you have difficulties with the translation, I recommend that you contact a trusted resource, where I have never had any complaints about the quality of translations.
